Thank you crasbe, just tested works forward and reverse.

Again thank you to everyone involved, it's very much appreciated.

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Please try the new 1.07A release, we found a typo in the Leaf code that prevents the inverter entering run mode: https://github.com/damienmaguire/Stm32-vcu/releases/tag/1.07A uploaded 1.07 and still have the same problem, not getting any of the can messages that relate to the inverter drive ie, 0x1...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Which CAN addresses is it sending? Only 0x1D4 missing? 0x11A, 0x1DB, 0x50B, 0x1DC, 0x1F2 should be present as well, those are all the addresses from the 10ms Task. 0x55B, 0x59E, 0x5BC are from the 100ms Task, are those present? Can you post your full parameter file please? With the old bin file loa...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

How are you sending switched 12v to the inverter? Make sure the inverter has its perm 12v and switched 12v separate, and that the inverter was powered on after the Zombieverter Yep, have both the prem 12v to the Inverter and the switch 12v which the VCU is controlling via relay. Can get the motor t...

Hi,

Thanks Rob, got it spinning which is a relief. Just need to work out why version 1.01 or the latest 1.06 will not work.

Thank again, hope your project is going well.

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Having problems with a Leaf Stack Gen 3 connected to a VCU. I'm at the stage of supplying 360 volts to the PDM. The IVT Shunt and Inverter are both showing the correct voltage and the Inverter is outputting its temp over Canbus. The VCU is showing Run and that forward is selected. When I press the t...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Also in second video on the Wiki (see https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=660s&v=MUhs9j9R9Mg&feature=youtu.be ) it says CAN2, pins 27-28 connect to the shunt. My shunt is connected to CAN2 (pin 27,28) as per the video and wiki, but I've had to select CAN1 in V1.01 to get in to communicate on pins...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support

Uploaded the new version 1.01 (Sept 22) Just started to put items together, but had trouble initiating the IVT Shunt. It's connected CANBUS 2 (pins 27,28). Found I had to change the CANBUS to CANBUS 1 in the interface to get the VCU to talk to the Shunt. Check my wiring which is correct to the diagr...

Re: Peugeot e-208 CATL modules BMS interface [SOLVED]

Hi Joe Thanks for asking. All good here now, thanks, slaves chatting nicely. I have also got the cell balancing working, and made a few minor changes for the sake of comms robustness. In test rig mode anyway, with everything much closer together than it will be in situ, the electrical noise from my...

Re: Peugeot e-208 CATL modules BMS interface [SOLVED]

Thanks for the useful summary, and additional temperature sensor info, Joe. I'm still stuck before that point. Microcontroller is definitely talking to the MAX chip OK, but when I go through the init daisy chain sequence of commands I never hear anything back from the slaves. Have checked the comms...

Details of the modules

Voltage: 21.9v
Capacity: 2.73kWh
Weight: 12kg
Width: 150mm
Length: 390mm
Height: 115mm

Checked the dimensions, not the weight, but 12kg feels about right.

Arber333, thank you, yep clear. Some info I was looking at suggests taking the cell higher, but looking at other graphs they is no point in going higher than 4.1V.

Thank you all.

Re: When is a pack fully charged.

Thank Tom and Christain, Yep, I was only going to check the high cell voltage once the balancing had been paused and I did wonder if you need to wait a set time after charging to see if the cell voltage has relaxed a little and need to restart charging. So I was thinking Always check cells do not go...

When is a pack fully charged.

If you were writing code for a BMS, how would you define the battery pack as being fully charged? Counting coulombs in and out would give you a good idea of SOC, but after a time an amount of drift will happen due to losses and you may not be charging to full or you could be overcharging and need to...

Re: Peugeot e-208 CATL modules BMS interface [SOLVED]

I think (using the pin numbering system in play in your post), this should read: "until the end when Pin 1 loops back to Pin 8 and Pin 3 to Pin 7, the end of the daisy chain." Apologies if I'm wrong. Anyway having quadruple-checked my wiring, I am now up and running. Thanks to all for the...

I thought I would put together a list of things I have found out about the Peugeot e-208 CATL modules. Firstly a big thank you to Clanarn for designing the master board, bexander for the software and chris01290 for software and general advice. The e-208 modules use the MAX178xx family of devices. e2...

Are the slave module connections documented somewhere? Are there configuration options for auxin? I have attached the two documents that refer to the master (MAX17841B) and slaves (MAX17823B). Two readings are available for the temperature of the cells using AUXIN 1 and 2, these are activated by wr...

After a bit of help with the MAX17841 / MAX 19823B combo. Using the interface board from Clanarn matched to 16 Peugeot-208 modules along with Arduino UNO as the process. All the voltages are reading correctly from Registers 0x20 to 0x25 (first six cells), the problem comes with reading the AUXIN1 an...

Chris - I notices that you have had one of the boards off one of the batteries, did you work out what cells contact to what pins. Is it a straight C0 to C6 or are they gaps? Also, do the batteries have one or two thermistors. Thanks Yes these modules use the first 6, although the code I have writte...

Re: Peugeot e-208 CATL modules BMS interface [SOLVED]

Hi Joe, Good choice of batteries, one advantage of these batteries is they have a build-in balancing circuit using the MAX17823B chip. This is then controlled by a Master board using a MAX17841B chip. I got a board from Clanarn, but I'm not sure if he has any left, but the data sheet can be found he...

Re: Peugeot e-208 CATL modules BMS interface [SOLVED]

Thank for the info, good to hear you got it working with the OEM boards. I will see about getting an interface board.

If possible as you have the same batteries, do you have the pinouts for the batteries to hand.

Thanks
