Re: Current control of induction motors
Here is a quote out of Power Electronics and Variable Frequency Drives B Bose: From this: Current as the controlled variable is same for DC or AC machines, it eliminates stator dynamics (stator resistance, stator inductance induced EMF). Current regulators for AC are more complex than for DC drives,...

Re: 2012 Camry Inverter AVV50R
Forgot to say I did testing using the different positions of the gear lever, with brake on. Then slow reverse, then slow forward. All recorded for the different modes with the PicoScope system on a working yellow taxi (with a tired HV battery). PS very happy with RS232 serial decoded stream.

Re: 2012 Camry Inverter AVV50R
Well this is what I get with my MTH data so far. Have looked at it a fair bit, and looked at Damien's software and remembered about temp_inv_water=mth_data[20] from Zechy (thank you). I have almost as many questions as what I managed to work out (which was'nt much). Looking forward to any comments, ...

Re: Parallel mg1 and mg2
Thank you Pete9008, and I agree with you as especially the 'bit more detail bit'. I guess if you make the wires for the MG1 and MG2 inverter inputs as equal as possible, and also the two sets of wires from MG1 and MG2 inverter to the motor as equal as possible you are helping yourself as much as pos...

Re: Parallel mg1 and mg2
If you parallel the MG1 and MG2 inverter outputs, the number of IGBTs nearly doubles, but there is still the same voltage drop which IGBTs operate with no matter how many IGBTs are in parallel. What will change is the lower effective dynamic resistance of the parallel arrangement of the IGBTs. So th...

Re: 2012 Camry Inverter AVV50R
Thank you everyone :). Well I am convinced I have collected good data, but I am questioning the serial decoding. Think there should be way more zeros in the serial streams. Checked out this https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2289&hilit=hyper+car&start=25. They say the serial stre...

Re: Bench setup for stm32-sine development
I don't like flywheels. The motor flywheel combination will have at least 1 resonant frequency, this is when things vibrate to bits. Maybe an old exercise bike, keep the magnets that put drag onto the flywheel. For regeneration, remove the magnets and get a little bit of regen from the spinning exer...

Re: Car inverter as a 3 phase inverter ?
Silly me, you can also get motor inductors that will work perfectly between the inverter and your iron core transformer:
These are specifically designed for Variable Speed Drives, ie waveforms exactly like those out of our inverters

Re: Car inverter as a 3 phase inverter ?
Microwave transformers are configured to work as ferroresonant circuits with the capacitor. If you look carefully at the transformer, you will see two shunts either side of the middle to the outer sides. These shunts create a highly nonlinear circuit along with the capacitor so you can actually get ...

Hope this helps.

Re: Car inverter as a 3 phase inverter ?
So I was at a 1 MW solar installation that used an SMA inverter mounted inside a shipping container. The output of the power electronics went to air cored inductors that got rid of most of the high frequencies. It was acoustically very annoying to hear the whine of the inductors. The output of the a...

Re: 2012 Camry Inverter AVV50R
Well here is some data put together. One excel spreadsheet for the MTH signals and one for the HTM signals. So I have correlated signals for: Generator ON Motor OFF Motor ON forward (slow) Motor ON backward (slow) There were a few serial packets that got corrupted so I was able to delete them before...

Re: 2012 Camry Inverter AVV50R
So now I have worked out how to get consistent start messages for both MTH and HTM data streams. MTH data stream still has too many 0s on the end but I can delete them manually until PicoScope can help me. So here is a taste of that. In other words, I have worked out how to overcome the jitter in th...

So here are HTM waveforms for:
7: Generator Running, Forward Very slowly
6: Generator Running, Reverse Very slowly
5: Generator Running, No motor.
Working on getting rid of jitter effect in synchronising SPI data capture for MTH data strings.
Theses are preliminary results. (lots of numbers)

Re: 2012 Camry Inverter AVV50R
I am starting to get data now. The red serial stream starts at the same time each time, but the blue stream has a bit of jitter in the start signal. So I only have the red stream data to present so far. Not sure if motor serial or generator serial stream at moment. More later as I understand more. H...

All signals have good square waveforms, except the chip select ty...

I have a 2012 Camry on the front lawn with G9200-33172 inverter.I am planning to get codes very shortly. Was hoping to nail the AC compressor first and already got a lot of data on this, but no idea what the codes mean yet. Nor what the check codes mean. I have gone as far as I can for now. So perha...

Re: Denso ES27C AC Compressor control (Toyota/Lexus)
Have measured temperature of the outside of the compressor with a surface temperature meter. Whilst using the compressor for cooling. Probably there are many similarities between these Denso AC compressors...
