Re: MachE parts already on the market!
Hey Guys, I have a ford E crate Eluminator motor that I plan to FOC tune with the prius gen 3 inverter. Does anyone have experience with this motor? Ford does not provide any information at all with the motor. Especially nothing about the connector or pinout for the resolver connections or the pole...

Re: 330e Hybrid Transmission
That does look cool. In OE application I have a feeling those boxes have a limited e top speed of about 70mph. It’ll be interesting to learn how they behave being pushed harder. We have an 330e at work with something like 240bhp as standard. They remap to something like 400bhp! and I think a lot of...

Cool, thanks for checking that! A guy on A2 forum just made a little fake device: https://a2-freun.de/forum/forums/topic/33106-a2-12tdi-3l-any-wiederaufbau-nach-motor-getriebeschaden/#comment-622906 Apparently you can also buy the actual sensor and leave it dangling somewhere. Did some CAD today: R...

Re: ID.3 and other MEB battery packs in conversions
There are part numbers for each small connecting cable within the whole HV battery, and prices so you should just be able to order some from any VAG parts department.
example:
0Z1971690S Connecting line; remark - 2,4,6,8
£7.87
0Z1971690T Connecting line; Remark - 1,3,5,7
£7.87

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
Thanks for all the feedback. At least initially I plan on going direct to the rear end as is. If it's a complete sluggish dog then maybe a change is in order. Perhaps in the rear end? One more thought. I am not to keen to drive this no real protection/no airbags and only a lap belt to crazily. I am...

HVJB / Electric: Drew up an enclosure to be laser cut in aluminium. I didn't have a way to fold properly, so I stitched the fold lines to allow it to be folded by hand and these would have to be welded later on. Was looking for a clean design (to bug anyone looking for the V8 later on  ) b...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
I usually drive that heavy Touran around in 3rd which I consider quite agile. In 2nd gear it is a real blast and traction control still kicks in around 60 km/h. In 4th gear it is well drivable, goes up steep inclines and just feels a bit sluggish off the line. So if you don't feel the need to show ...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
Hi Tom, Thanks. Yes there is no transmission. Here is what I used to calculate the rpm vs speed CalculatedSpeed-MG-with-Leaf-EM57.jpg Hi Jerry, Looking at the Leaf it has approx 24.8" tyres - so not too different from the MGB 24.5" so no real gearing advantage of a smaller tyre so we can ...

IMG_20211217_103836.jpgThe Excel finally got some attention. It's up on my portable vehicle lift and I've started the suspension/brake rebuild. Although it's a galvanised chassis, it stood in someone's garden since 2006 and some (unplated) suspension components are beyond use. I had always planned ...

And next the complete adapter on the Motor, ready to put in the MGB to start the motor mount install.20210110_144552.jpg This is a nice project but I noticed it looks like you are intending to directly drive the rear axle from the Leaf motor. All BEV motors have a gear reduction, in the 2012 Leaf's...

Interesting project. From here: http://www.thenuffieldandleylandtractorclub.co.uk/wp/wp-content/themes/nuffield/images%20two/Specifications%20255.pdf I note it says "pump gear type in transmission." Does that mean you could do away with a separate hydraulic pump? Hydraulics Type Independen...

Re: MachE parts already on the market!
Very interesting that OEMs are seeing what people are doing and catering to the demand of retrofits! I had a conversation with VW a while ago, who are allegedly letting you tap into their supply chain, so you can buy new batteries and devices from them directly. That's just what the 'classic' auto ...

Re: Any known dimensions of the Audi e Tron quattro battery pack?
Per oemvwshop, the dimensionless dimensions of the 4KE-915-100-G battery (the 2019 battery) are 35 x 230 x 163. I'm guessing those are cm. I'm actually getting an eTron battery shipped to me right now. I should have it in a week, or so. I'll make sure to post dimensions and images as I tear it down...

Re: Any known dimensions of the Audi e Tron quattro battery pack?
There are lots of battery pack part numbers associated with the E-Tron but they all start 4KE 915 910 - then have a 2x digit suffix like AB So for example 4KE915910AB which is PR:MQ3 and >26.04.2021 just FYI that part number is listed at £23,524.82 new! Don't know any DIMS but maybe try some googlin...

This is an interesting article regarding the Leaf motor and bearings. Quote: "The main bearing at the motor shaft gear is a ball bearing, oil lubricated from the gearbox lubricant. It has similar geometry to a 6207 ball bearing which specifies a maximum speed of 11,000 rpm for oil lubricated o...

Re: What happens if you spin a leaf engine >20.000 RPM
De motor isn't supported in the middle, only on the extremes. So if you go to really high rpm's you should see the mechanical forces pulling it out of the centre. The middle is where it will bend like a chord and thats where it started to touch and self destruct... RPM limit is a must on the same l...

When overspinning the engine something must have broke and from then on i guess it was a chain reaction. It seems that the two halfes of the magnet have twisted a bit: PXL_20211001_085806598.jpg Now i've cut the shaft of the magnet and cut our the temperature sensor to send this to Johannes as a te...

This is the nearest I can see - which might fit with some 'trimming' BUT they are cheap! BMW 12527549033. Got ahold of one today and can confirm this connector fits the i3 CCS lock actuator out of the box. No trimming or mods necessary. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-socket-housing-4polig-125...

Does anyone happen to have a part number for the mating connector of the i3 CCS locking actuator? Im coming up empty other than finding the complete mating harness from an i3. BEV noise
whilst on my lunch time walk a Tesla Model 3 and a Nissan Leaf happened to drive past me - probably around 30mph.
