im getting some intermittent cyclical cell voltages on one of my module boards. It bounces up and down about 1.3 volts on 2 of the cells, which then prevents the BMS from allowing any charge enable signal, in addition to scaring the eff out of me. Any clues why this is? Do i need to replace another ...
i just received my SimpBMS board from Second Life EV Batteries Ltd and start to play around with it. Amazing thread with lots of information! Just wondering: Did someone create a housing for this board and provides a step or stl file to print it? in my case, the distributor designed and sold a 3d p...
12v, 100hz, 69%. I've read on diyev that the output is 3.6kW. PXL_20220830_035437177_exported_15132.jpg i understand this is confusing, considering 69% is way off tests others have done. perhaps when I get some more time charging i'll to some testing with that. I will say that as I increased the dut...
Couple of Nissan leaf BMS modules. - I'll add pictures asap Gen2 leaf Charger/DCDC (top end of PDM). I only used the inverter and motor. I also have a section of the DC input. Leaf Chademo assembly - nothing is cut. Full Tesla Model 3 front subframe, suspension, steering rack and brakes Pictures to ...
I figured it out. I bought a Volt charge inlet off ebay which came with the wiring. Come to find out it was the same exact Aptiv connector, but wired completely differently to the J1772 inlet. This is the proper wiring. Somehow with me having the G and L1 swapped it still worked - presumably based o...
So, I successfully charged by truck yesterday using this charger and an AVC from Modular EV Power for J1772. On my North American 120V outlet I got 3.7A, which is about 1300W. I charged my pack up to about 370V, then decided to drive around and test out a public charger. Alas, all 10 I went to were ...
I'm happy to be "done" with this part of the journey! No bubbles have been burst as the battery market here just isn't that great. The BMW pack is a great option, however finding the 12kWh packs for $1k just isn't possible here. I did buy 6 individual 2kWh modules for $1700, which was a go...
BMS notes: Using 16 model S/X module BMS boards was actually kind of a lot of work. I would say it's only something you should consider if you need a battery form factor that you can't get with a compatible BMS. I'll say this was my case to make myself feel better :) Here is a summary of the work re...
very interesting! I'll have to look into how to add a PWM output for the charger on the SimBMS. There's one used to drive a gauge, so maybe that'll work. then perhaps another from my VCU for the DCDC - that could be a little more challenging.
DcDc can be connected to HV directly. If you show it PWM it starts with 14V. But if you remove PWM it will revert to 13.6V as a failsafe. Charger will require 100Hz PWM signal to run and BMS to stop it when pack is full. I bet you could get zombieverter to output 2x PWM signals for you... I've been...
i've been driving my mk1 around a bit and you're right about the need for a brake booster. I can certainly press hard enough to stop, but it takes quite a bit of effort. My solution is probably a brake upgrade + changing to the OI Leaf Gen2 board with regen. that'll do 95% of my braking anyway. How ...
ah! I was thinking that was the conclusion this morning during even more research. This is why i've ordered a Gen2 inverter board . that will provide me with all your parameters, cruise control!, regen!
I switched back to the original ESP8266, but of course it ONLY shows me gauges labelled "Lexus Gs450h...", none of the other features the latest web interface offers. This is fine for now i guess, but it confirms there is something with the new wifi module that is missing. perhaps Damien's...
this is very likely a newb issue. Received a pre-flashed ESP8266 module from Johannes a few weeks ago and swapped for the original in my 2020 EVBMW Leaf VCU. I have no gauges. I learned this could be because the parameters are not selected/ticked to display, but i don't have those either. Do I need ...
Ok, so this answers my question. I can't really diagnose without a battery connected. But you can connect any 6 cells that are wired in series and then you'll be able to check one board at a time, works well 😊 i was thinking about doing that last night, but i thought there was some chance i could f...
