Re: Use ESP32 Web interface also as GVRET CAN device?
Sorry @uhi22, but I have spent days trying to get this running. I am not at ease with all this coding....after numerous de-installing all Arduino files, I "sort of" managed to create a sketch. Now I have spent te last few hours trying to fix all the error messages Any ideas where I am goin...

Almost there.
I don't see the reason for:
"Connect a switch, which connects the pin35 either to ground or to pin 47"

Re: Use ESP32 Web interface also as GVRET CAN device?
"At the moment, I use two ESP32, one for the esp32-web-interface, and one as interface for SavvyCAN (https://github.com/uhi22/wifican). Both of these have CAN on the one side and Wifi on the other side, so basically this is topic to optimize both into one project" @uhi22, are you using Ard...

Re: Use ESP32 Web interface also as GVRET CAN device?
For info, I bought an ESP32-S3 wroom and will attempt your setup. I (think) I have setup my Nucleo board to send a message in loopback. Plan now is to copy your .io file using Arduino to ESP32. What I understand is that once that is done, I can connect it via Savvycan and 'listen' to CAN bus . Then ...

Re: Setting Up CAN reader - STM32 Nucleo board
I found a link that allows for STM32 to be used in ArduinoIDE. I downloaded the ArduinoIDE and STM programmer. I tried the Blinkexample, but after starting the debug, I get errors Now I have a basic CAN example from STM Community which I managed to download. Next step is to test if it is reading any...

Re: Setting Up CAN reader - STM32 Nucleo board
If I were to carry out the set-up I found and connected it to a CAN network (contact relay control unit or instrument cluster) should I not be able to read a CAN message at least on the STM board? https://controllerstech.com/can-protocol-in-stm32/ If this is confirmed, I would have thought porting A...

Re: Setting Up CAN reader - STM32 Nucleo board
Yes, it seems later DEV boards have examples ready for applications. My board has CAN pinouts and thought it would be an easy fix to convert. I read that most STM ARM MCU are the same and libraries can be used from one to the other with 'slight' modifications, but I'm no code developer, so might hav...

Re: Setting Up CAN reader - STM32 Nucleo board
Thanks, I followed the wiki https://openinverter.org/wiki/CAN_bus_with_Arduino_Due. I downloaded Collin80 zip files along with Savvy CAN from the links. I now understand how to activate CAN TX and CAN TX on my STM32NuckeoF338R8 board. I connected the SN65HVD230 CAN bus transceiver as per the wiki se...

Re: Setting Up CAN reader - STM32 Nucleo board
Thanks uhi22, I have reverted to the initial setup as per the Arduino/Wiki/@Gregski setup. From what I understand..... I need to setup my Nucleo board and activate the CAN tx and CAN rx pins in Config Setup when creating a new Project. This part I can do. Then I am supposed to import the Code from C...

Setting Up CAN reader - STM32 Nucleo board
After many moocs on CAN protocol setting up, and reading up the well documented Wiki regarding setting up CAN reader with Arduino-Due, I have to ask if there are any solutions to transport the project to a STM32 board. I downloaded Collin80 Github code, GV-RET library, SavvyCAN I have a Nucleo board...

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit Prius Gen 3
I got a universal kit and adjusted them once fitted. The main issue to avoid is the travel when they are at their lowest point, ie, wheels lifted off the ground. The driveshafts need to clear the chassis.

The opening up of the locking mechanism was a great help in understanding PP and CP resistance. Will get a multimeter out on the back of the plug then to confirm

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit
After much thought, I put in my vote. Whilst I have a similar project 'sitting here ' running a locked up Prius Gen 2, I could vote for that and hope it helps me get a move on ... However, I feel the setup could be easier if a motor is mounted to the original gearbox....like a Smart. The low châssis...

Re: Removed quote button and added alternative
As with all change curmudgeons like me will complain at first, and then begrudgingly accept it later. Whether or not it's actually better or worse is independent of this. Hear you, however there are many times where threads are too long.... don't get me starred on carbon footprint of resending data...

Re: Isolation Monitor - Suggestions?
I will get back to Bender this week. They asked for a description of my project and possible opportunities in the future.... I guess they want to see if its worth their while or if this is a one off. I will incorporate the ISA shunt as the alternative and reference. That way I can compare "appl...

Re: Cheap Tesla Shunts (£24)
Please note the Shunt is HV referenced, you NEED a digital isolator somewhere in your interface. [/quote] For clarification/understanding - the shunt monitors and calculates current and voltage measurements. The digital isolator that you speak of is another component. If so, what are you using with t...

Isabellenhütte has now published information about IVT 3 Pro which comes with an isolatiom monitoring option: https://www.isabellenhuetteusa.com/dc-current-and-voltage-sensors-ivt-series/ Maybe it's worth asking whether it's available, and what's the minimum quantity and price? Re: Isolation Monitor - Suggestions?
I,ve been contacted by Bender Germany asking for more details regarding our conversions. I am making up a little presentation explaining that if we find a component that can monitor isolation with CAN bus communication, we would be interested in bulk orders (at the right price). Basically, an option...

Re: Next Prius Gen2 "ECU"
Depends, the 'battery' is a glorified accumulator. It stores energy quickly and uses it up just as fast. Voltage before Inverter, as in battery pack voltage is around 200vdc. The inverter buck/boost controls voltage in and out if it, from what I worked out. Damien made a video showing the voltage af...
