Re: Smart Roadster (with Prius Gen3 Inverter and Outlander Rear Motor)
What about selling those 2-3 modules and put 16 X lifePo4 mat modules @3.2v in the front. That way your HV is all the same and you add an additional bms.
On another subject, thanks for all the plots and codes, I learning lots from your work.

I see new electric has been rolling out some new builds, but Kevin is nowhere to be seen. Anyone know how to contact him? His details from 2020 are no more correct.

Re: Toyota Prius gen2 plug and play
That does look familiar. How did you get along? I have haven't touched mine for ages. BTW, if you don't have a bms, be careful with amps and Max dc voltage. I overheated my Prius pack and had to put a house cooling fan in the boot overnight, and it was still very warm the next morning.

Re: Toyota Prius gen2 plug and play
The charger is a great backup but is limited to 320vdc. I am happy to have been able to get it working, and I use it for test purposes at lower voltages. Stand alone charger is next plan as I will be running MG1 and Mg2.

With all your hard work done on IPM Simulator, how about 2 hv contactors from an e-tron hvjb?

I used an old clothes iron heating element. Damien would propose a cooking stove element.

Re: E-tron HVJB
Some more useless info, the main circuit board also has the function of PWM signals to keep the HV Relays closed.
If we want to re-use these contactors, we need to have PWM wizardry as well.

Re: E-tron HVJB
Did some poking about with a multieter and marker pen. Some interesting findings. There are 2 circuit boards monitoring various voltages before and after the 4 HV Contactors. Since there are 2 inverters/motors, there's lots of doubling up I imagine. What is most interesting is the "Bridge Board...

This is the main contacter controle board inside the HVJB.
It has 10 wires from the outside world, 2 of which are CAN

Re: E-tron HVJB
So , out with magnifying glass and cross eyes
These are references for sensing board.
On a side note, this board connects to the 'main internal board' which will be in the next post.
Is this some overkill, or just how important voltage sensing, isolation and contacter controle is?

E-tron HVJB
Hi there folks, doing a breakdown of an E-Tron HVJB. It has an isolation fault (intermittantly), so hope the tear down reveals something. In any case, I hope this helps with overall builds. The unit weights about 15kgs! It contains 4 HV ETE Relays There are 3 main HV Fuses There is an internal contro...

Re: Prius Gen2 Boost Converter - how to use? [SOLVED]
I got the charger part in Buck mode working for testing purposes, but will install an EU/CE bms and charger system to attempt homologation process. I'm more interested in getting the full 80kw out of a duel motor setup running 300vdc.. So need to boost to about 450v ,but buck when in regen.
