Re: Why won't the leaf motor spin?
Remove CAN from equation. Take the CAN wires off from the load. Are you using CAN throttle? See if you have some CAN parameters set in code. You need to remove them or set them to 0. Thanks Arber333. I do not have a can bus at all. So the throttle is a Prius throttle pedal. I have 5 volts going to ...

Why won't the leaf motor spin?
I am trying to bring up the the system following the Procedure in "Using FOC Software" (I admit I might have to do something else first, but if so I haven't got a clue). Code 4.76.R-foc - Leaf Parameter File Steps 1. Power on the BMS Controller using the Pack Sniffer 2, Wait for relays to ...

Re: Extend Inverter FAQ
This is an awesome idea. I am new and trying to figure out what to do step by step. My focus is on Leaf Inverter + Motor not Tesla but obviously have a some of the same questions. Thanks for doing this. Maybe I can add to the Leaf Version as I learn more. I confirmed with Johannes that he would like...
Re: Loresamp
Just checked the resolver code: So it records the minimum and maximum amplitude of the the sin signal. But if the motor is stationary (which it usually is after startup) and happens to be in a position where the sin-amplitude is low, it will assert the LORESAMP warning for no reason. Gotta work on ...

Re: Mainboard V3 FAQ
I am doing the same (on-desk car simulator). I found if I turn on the HV Manually through the pre-charge resister and then the contactor to bypass the pre-charge resister after 10 seconds, I never get PRECHARGE-STOP. And one other on-Bench mystery has been solved, the Warn-LowResAmp. Rotate the moto...

Re: Leaf Invertor DC connections
!EX = GND so yet can scope EX to ground. You should see a 4.4kHz sine with 9V peak-peak amplitude. But sometimes I get lowresamp in my car, I think the detection might need some work Thanks, Johannes! I have a cheap USB digital scope I can use to test this tonight. BUT... I still would like to know...

Sequence of Starting up the Inverter with HV
Happily and correctly because of your help clanger9 , zippy500, and celeron55, I connected HV to the Leaf Inverter and nothing blew up. My question is what is the sequence to bring the HV on line with the v3 Controller (I'm and flipping relay switches by hand). I noticed that I can get two different...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
If you're not doing so already I recommend you use Damien's HV current limiting technique using a bulb or cooker element. I'm sure one of his videos will show you how :) Thanks Kekvin, If you are referring to limiting current during the pre-charge a few seconds, I have created this two relay circui...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
Still working on bench testing the motor. (no cigar yet)! I connected the battery to the inverter with a manually controlled pre-charge. 20200404_202655.jpg 20200404_202712.jpg 20200404_203058.jpg 20200404_203112.jpg 20200404_203032.jpg I downloaded the latest code from Gethub. https://github.com/js...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
no worries about that pin 11, it is already wired to 12V on the adapter board. The resolver wires should be twisted pairs, not twisted family ;) So twist sin- and sin+, cos- and cos+, exc- and exc+ . Also in the original harness they are shielded pair-wise. You could run into noise issues otherwise...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
I am trying to prepare for putting HV DC power to the motor from the Leaf Inverter. Here is where I m at. I have created a small switch panel. On it I have a master on then a key w/off/on/momentary start. Powering it I have a 12 volt DC switching power supply. I also have a switch that can be off or...

Leaf Adapter Board
Johannus, I am still working on my MGB Conversion, and to add connections that are not in the Leafs wire harness connector to the Invertor, I have done the following: 20200403_073014.jpg Here I have wired to the back side of the connector red to pin 25 in_reverse, white to pin 16 in_forward, Yellow ...

Re: Leaf Invertor Plug-add wiring to plug
I was able to drill two holes through the plug Receptacle. See my 70MGB roadster project here: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=600 It's on the second page. I drilled two holes one on each side of the Receptacle. I have not yet soldered it to the board or the pin in the recept...

Re: Leaf Invertor DC connections
 You can always use multimeter diode check. One polarity will show a diode forward voltage of 0.3 to 1.2V depending on the inverter. This is the reverse polarity and will be a short circuit if you connect the battery this way. The other polarity will show open circuit after a second of chargi...

Re: Leaf Invertor Plug SIN/COS Connections
As zippy 500 pointed out, twist these pairs and shield the pairs.
the cable pairs from inverte\or plug are
44,45 (MtempP1, MtempP2)
20,21 (Sin+, Sin-)
19,27 (Ex, !Ex)
17,18 (Cos+, Cos-)

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
Made a little more progress today (well 2 steps forward and one step back). I wired it but got information after I created the harness that I should have made specific twisted pairs and shielded them. That is going to be the 1 step back. I decided to try and make the control wire wire harness for th...

Re: Leaf Invertor Plug SIN/COS Connections
Obviously I need to rebuild the wire harness to the resolver (making the appropriate shielded twisted pairs - Thanks again Zippy 500) but here are the pics from today. I had to drill a hole through the receptacle of the inverter plug so I could get the throttle wires into the inverter. I have only a...

Thanks Zippy500. That helps a lot.I made the cables this morning not having had an answer yet. I will remake it and twist and shield as appropriate.
