It's a pick your poison type of thing. You'll run into problems either way. I've never heard anything good about the Olimex boards you use, and have heard nothing but good things about the D1 Minis (which I use). I believe Brattitude was making or going to make Olimex --> D1 converter adapters becau...

would love to hear more detail / see pics of how you gutted the buck boost converter please if possible Just FYI, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a need to remove the Buck/Boost converter. One of the frustrating things about not having a deep understanding of these things, is that I don't think anyone ever goes out and says the most basic overview type stuff. I think the Zombieverter just tells the OEM hardware what to do, according to original OEM CAN signals. So you can't get it to ...

Looks like a Damien McGuire special. GS450H and an i3 charger. The 240z is the enemy of my Opel GT. When the 240z came out, it buried the GT. Very similar styling, similar small size and light weight, but a trunk that actually opens and a back seats rather than a shelf the size of rear seats with no...

I like how you label your bins directly. Not on a label, no, right onto the bin. Because you're a realist. You know that the bin will never be repurposed. That would imply that the purpose of a bin that holds things, is for the things in the bin to eventually be removed from the bin and used. No no,...

Besides, am I the only one who is "triggered" by posts containing 50 lines of (pretty random) quote and 1 line of reply? When I was a kid, our elderly internet forefathers taught us manners and etiquette. "Pretend it was paper and you were having to write it out by hand, that's how m...

I've been told by Artur that the Camry is closer to the Lexus GS450h That would be a Camry inverter spinning a GS450H motor. I think he means use the Prius inverter to spin a Camry transaxle, as the transaxle is more powerful than the Prius one and we're limited by motor power not inverter power. ....

Re: Getting Old Analog gauges to work...
To state the obvious, the point of a gauge is to display useful information to the driver. Not just to display things, there's a reason we display things. If you consider the speedometer to be the #1 gauge for information the driver can use, the tach was probably #2. The Tach tells the driver the RP...

Hate this change. Hate this kind of thing. And who with a cell phone these days can select text? At least the old quote button sort of works for them too. It might be better, but it's less intuitive, and at this point there's 25 years history of knowing what a quote button does. You have to gain big...

It will be simpler than gen3, purely because once the psd on gen 2 is welded both mg1 and mg2 will spin as the same speed and more evenly contribute torque to the reduction gears, You two posts here sum up YEARS worth of various threads that I've never been able to keep track of and that no one has...

Re: I bought a Citroen ibooster GEN2 and have some questions
Today I discovered that the master cylinder is preloaded about 1 mm by default without any power being applied to the ibooster. So it means that preloading the push rod isn't a bad idea. It has a little free play which is needed for the calibration of the travel sensor. That would be excellent info...

Re: Newb Asks: Can We Find Nissan Leafs at Pick-n-Pull ?
You will probably never find a battery under the car. When a car arrives to Pick N Pull they process it before it hits the yard. That means they drain all the fluids (including often puncturing the main rad hose with a V-shaped awl rather than disconnecting it, letting you buy 3 of them each which l...
