We should dubble check the pinout of Johannes board against our inverters which we drive over CAN at the moment.Jack Bauer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 7:02 am If possible keep power, ground and CAN lines the same as oem on the white connector that way I can just drop this straight into my inverter.

Re: 2017 Outlander PHEV Lev40n (IRL)
They are only around 12kWh of capacity and 300V so you won't get any incredible range in an EV out of them also are they quite big cells but the upside is that they should handle a reasonable amount of abuse.

Congrats!
Looks really nice and the feeling of getting results never dies
I also had a drive today with the CAN-bus controlled Gen1 in my VW but I will not spam your thread with my car, only thing I can say is that 80 kW in a beetle is sufficient!

Do you mind sharing the price per cell? I guess buying more gets you a better price but just for some guideline of the price-level would be interesting.

Got this from Johannes yesterday and soldered it together. It's for my friends Gen2, I've also got one loose brain-board for my Gen1 laying here at home now
Yesterday did I manage to got hold of a spare Gen1 inverter, it should arrive next week from Norway.

No I'm running clutchless direct-drive ;) have the understanding that the EV-motors in general aren't designed to have axial forces applied to their rotor which is what happens with a clutch setup. Great build! Have you considered using Leaf motor with original Leaf diff and half-shafts (but then o...

Try sending these values on the first byte in message 0x11A to the inverter. The data is from your CAN-logs.

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Anyone know howto use leafspy to read dtcs from the inverter? HAve tried connecting with a bluetooth obd but it wont read from the inverter can. Aren't all DTCS handled and served by the VCU, the inverter just sends som bit-valued error codes to the VCU and it's the VCU:s task to interpret the code...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Started testing. I get 372v on 1DA when hv is applied which is correct. Think I have screwed up the resolver wiring as getting 16krpm and -24f motor temp:) Okay, then my assumption that something has broken in my inverter seems correct. I've got all the cables wired correctly so if you do it like m...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 Inverter Board
Today I tried to do this operation myself on my Gen1 inverter. I have previously tested out the Arduino and CAN-comunication with a Gen2 inverter and everything worked like expected. When I now do the same operation won't the motor turn on my Gen1, what I think might be broken on my Gen1 is the volt...

Okay, I did my best to sort out the connection pins between the two connectors, see attachment.
I've also attached the pinout of the green connector from the maintance manual.

Just an heads up now when you folks are designing adapterboards. There is a little caviat that Nissan has done with the way cables go from the outside green connector to the inside white connector (the one Johannes found on Digikey). There is not much of the cables going from one number in the green...

Is this the outside-world connector: https://www.digikey.de/product-detail/de/te-connectivity-amp-connectors/1318384-4/A141414-ND/2273491 ? 2.2mm vertical and 3mm horizontal pin spacing. I would say that's the correct connector. Looks really like the one I have. Just like the drawing suggest from t...

Cool, thanks :) 1. no I mean a signal that represents the high voltage level. That's over my paygrade to figure out ;) 4. Yes they are all pulled up to 5V, does that mean 5V=good? Sounds reasonable but maybe someone else on the forum have better knowledge ;) 7. The temp sensor must have 2 pins, wha...
