Re: Prius gen3 can't see HV voltage
As with any troubleshooting challenge... Information is ammunition. Which board is Damien's board? The Gen 3 brain swap or the Zombieverter? Dump your params here so that people can spot something off about one of the many inter-related variables. Yes, the inverter can be faulty, but I think you're ...

Re: Gen 3 Prius Transaxle P410 Makes Clunky Noise.
Turns out the Zombie was looking at the wrong byte in the serial comms with the inverter. This is now being worked on by Damien with my support to resolve this and verify the other information from the Prius Inverter. So I'd presume Greg is the first to use the Zombie for a Prius then, as this shou...

Prius Gen 3 HV Stand Offs DIY EV Conversion Copper and aluminum exist on opposite ends of the electrochemical scale, and thus when touching, create a battery that powers its own corrosion. It's why we don't do aluminum wiring in houses anymore, and the retrofit option for not tearing it all out is ...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
. Yours could apply a "hil hold" function i guess... That'd be neat. It's certainly not grabbing hard. I can move it with my fingers and i had my current set to 90% (on only a 12v battery). But it's non zero. Can you state the P/N for your encoder and some photo of its sticker? Hmm, no. T...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
If i understand you have ACIM and dual channel encoder. Four wires channel A, B and +12v, gnd. Correct! Inside the brain this is converted to quad encoder position but you need to input how many pulses does single channel make. You count this by putting a LED on signal A and 12V and count it blink....

64 pulses per revolution Change numimp to 64 Finally got around to doing that today. I'm not sure if it's working perfectly, but, when I tell it to move zero RPM... it now moves zero RPM. One thing I hadn't seen before I had my encoder hooked up, the inverter actually tries to maintain that when tu...

That is truly the ugliest bracket I have ever seen in my life. I watched it evolve and am still shocked at its form. If a bracket could have a spirit animal, it would be a platapus... after dancing with a woodchipper. It's like a Picasso of what a bracket should be. Horrendously patchworked, stylist...

Can you provide a link to any materials for flashing the OI firmware to the bluepill to help me along? Yes ... in the thread specifically created for this controller board and its troubleshooting. Re: Wemos D1 flash issue: No Spot Values
Put a different way, the Wemos D1 Mini is a miniature webserver. It has an IP, you connect to it, it gives you the webpage that it's hosting. That webpage is the OpenInverter interface, stored on the Wemos. But the Wemos doesn't actually tell the inverter how to move and spin and such. The STM32 doe...

A through-hole board? Wow, I think that makes 3 of us. Didn't know anyone was still 4 years behind the times. I'd take and post screenshots of exactly what things are doing and saying. Part of the trouble of troubleshooting is to make sure both sides of the conversation understand what the other is ...

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit Prius Gen 3
Loving your battery install btw. Looks great there. Shame it couldn't flush mount. I think that's a good solution to most DIY EVers too. Don't plan for the perfect. Spend a little money, do it sooner. Get it to drive 30 miles at a time off a small pack that's fairly discretely installed. Spend extra...

Not my first rodeo, I have "built" or ruined a half a dozen of cars in my life so this comes easy, In as much as strangers can observe and judge each other, I'd say you're not good at anything (I dunno, maybe you're an okay father), but you're pretty good at almost everything. And you're ...

For $500, that's a fantastic deal for someone who wants an EV. Just add batteries and go. Heck of a steal.
See? Here you were doubting me that you could convert at 1984 Rabbit in a weekend if you throw some money at it.

64 pulses per revolution. Change numimp to 64 I'm not sure that's actually what that's saying, it just quotes one possible encoder as having 64. But, that's a better guess than I have for any other number. If I disassemble the motor am I going to find an encoder with a number on it that I could loo...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
You may require slightly different gains thanks to less than identical component layout? (Just guessing) I’d verify with a current clamp. Don't have a DC clamp meter. Might have a big DC shut and meter around somewhere. Accuracy of the current doesn't bug me unless it uses that to know how to turn ...

... why would you use MG1?
It's weaker than MG2.
It's in the same housing as MG2.
It's in the same inverter case as MG2.
