Okay, your encoder A/B might be switched.
Good to hear it's working otherwise!

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
You need the sine.bin or sine.hex file (either one works). Not FOC. Not sure about the encoder wiring, I'll let someone with LDU experience chime in. 118v should be enough to really get it going, so be careful. For bench testing it would be safer to get some coolant in the inverter, its thermal mass...

Outlander rear motor? ~60kw motor hooked up with ~7.0:1 ratio to diff.
Control via CAN (not sure if anyone has an 'official' vcu for it), or use a Prius inverter.
9300rpm max according to wiki.

Pressure transducer being the pedal sensor?
Let me know if you find a good source for those connectors - EVCreate has them sometimes (right now for 99 euros).

Re: Extracting 150kw from a Leaf 24kwh Gen2 Battery - Possible?
Ah ok, so the BMS is in control of how much power is drawn, set to a level that's safe for the battery. So if I did add more modules in parallel to up the power would I have to move to an aftermarket BMS system? No. The BMS will complain about the excessive power draw but it can't do anything about...

Re: Tesla SDU continuous power
DOE dyno tests state 211kw for the 2019 M3 LR RWD, versus the 220kw the SDU is usually rated for. But here's a dyno test for a LR RWD M3. https://insideevs.com/news/339085/a-hidden-reason-to-buy-a-rear-wheel-drive-tesla-model-3-long-range/ It claims a peak of 325hp. Versus the 294hp of the SDU. So i...

Re: Tesla SDU continuous power
interesting, as google claims the M3 RDU can provide less Peak power then the old SDU from model S Yup. But for that race application, where continuous power is more important, the M3 motor was more suitable. The S motor is induction while the M3 is permanent magnet, so the rotor in the S motor hea...

Re: Chademo Controller Development
That's actually an interesting feature. I've always wondered, shouldn't the rest of the HV loads (ac charger, DC/DC, inverter, a/c compressor, etc.) be somehow isolated from EVSE during the rapid charging!? Else, when rapid charging, we're essentially injecting the charging current into our main HV...

Hmm. Zelectric does 911s and 912s, their builds look clean. Aston Martin themselves planned on doing conversions - they called it the 'Heritage EV' program, but news seems to have dried up on it. Depending on your budget - there's a British company called 'Lunaz' which is doing classic Bentleys, Jag...

Looks just like Figure 2B in this patent application from January 2019. https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/detail.jsf;jsessionid=2C26A175D7355A1DE75E30C31C34503C.wapp2nC?docId=WO2019003066&tab=DRAWINGS It appears to contain some temperature sensors and to have adjustable speed. Does that mea...

So Damien has really cool HVJBs in his vehicles that allow him to distribute power out to many different things. Re: Chademo Controller Development
On the 'Chademo VCU' the contactor relay connects the contactors between pin 2 (positive signal from EVSE) to pin 10 (negative signal from EVSE).
The other relay simply powers up the unit when pin 7 is grounded.
EDIT Fixed mistake

Re: BMW e30e
Leaf charger has not been hacked as far as I know.
A good charger is one of the Chevy Volt units, they are easily CAN controlled.
CCS is separate from the Leaf charger system since it's just DC straight into the pack. So yes they are compatible, but the Leaf charger can't do anything for you.

Yes. It's just hard to find 'real specs' for batteries -- all you can really do is look at other builds and see how well they have worked.

Re: Partlist for a Tesla Swap Project
I'm just speaking in rough terms. Yup, 236kw is ~320hp. 6.5C is from the ratings you have above. It all depends on what batteries you end up with. And also how hard you want to push them. Two complete Volt packs is known to power a large Tesla motor nicely. Modifying Tesla modules -- 12S37P would gi...

Re: Partlist for a Tesla Swap Project
If you only have space for 7 Tesla modules you won't be able to get 700hp. According to your specs for P85D modules, you can get 6.5C for 3 seconds. 7 modules is (5.2kWh * 7) 36.4 kWh. That times 6.5 = 236 kW, no more than 300hp. Yup, you'll need to focus on batteries. What car are you planning to c...
