New MOT rules
Hi Forum. I got a message today regarding the new MOT rules. Seems vehicles may be checked every 2 years possibly in the near future. However the part that mentions EV battery checks for safety etc could pose a problem for us who have built our own packs and not had any inspections done. Or we may j...

Re: SDU parameter tuning - major failure - can't select drive gear
Hi Rikard. If you are thinking of adding TVS I would use bidirectional as spikes could happen with drive and regen possibly so current flow is in either direction.

Hi Rikard. Stick with Tripmode 1, is still the best idea without doubt.

Maybe a car or motorbike wheel, tyre filled with water for extra load ? I can machine a hub to fit your motor if that will work ?

Re: Rear Wheel Transaxle Options (Tesla SDU, Leaf, Prius, etc)
Hi Techshop. I think you may need to double check first if a custom subframe is acceptable when it comes to an inspection (or not called for hopefully )

Re: Tuning the small drive unit with charts
Increasing Boost and decreasing Fweak puts you further into a possible overcurrent event.
With the intermittent issue you are having I would start plotting values and record them.
Did you have the exact same overcurrent issues with the previous inverter ?

Re: Tuning the small drive unit with charts
You could try setting udcnom to 0 so it does not adjust anything whilst testing.
I agree with catphish, Boost seems low.
In my setup your Fweak setting would be too low and cause overcurrent so I raise Fweak and raise Boost to compensate for a good start off the line.

Could we fund a bespoke SDU inverter ?
Hi Forum. As the last funding exercise for a 3D printer was such a success I was wondering if SDU owners (and those with defunct SDU inverters) would be willing to fund a Openinverter designed SDU replacement ? If enough of us agree would anyone be willing to take on the task? Would be great if we h...
