Re: Mercedes S123 station wagon with Tesla SDU
I read the posts regarding problems of earlier Tesla motors, as far as I understood they suffered from worn rotor bearings. Yet I didn't really find a lot of detailled information on that. But focussing on 2018 motors only narrows the choice down drastically. Anyone changed the bearings himself alr...

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
If i were to use i3 cells, I’m right in thinking they’re liquid cooled and it cant be that hard to create a liquid cooling loop as there is already points for that on each i3 module, that would make rapid charging a bit better I suppose. Most batteries will require cooling if you wish to undertake ...

Re: Tesla DC to Dc Deushte connectors
At least three versions of the Model S have been produced. One solution is to use the part numbers from the Tesla documentation and match that against the labels on the part being sold.

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
Planning on doing an EV Conversion of an BMW E46 Touring using the GS450H Gearbox as a drive motor, along with the Lexus inverter and the Openinverter GS450H VCM Kit from the EVBMW webshop. I recommend you buy a GS450H car and break it for parts. A few months ago we paid £500 for a good example in ...

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
Also how would I achieve AC charging like what I use to charge my current car at home, I imagine i'll need a separate type 2 port as CHAdeMO is DC only and home charging is AC and a separate AC-DC converter When installing your AC charge port use the CCS connector so you can upgrade in the future. ...

Re: Toyota MGR Rear Traction Transaxle
I believe now he is up to design oil cooling. I'm still in doubts of what is most simple, cheap yet efficient way to cool oil. Heavy duty oil pumps are way too expensive even on ebay and aliexpress. My thought is to glue brass water tubes on the outside of casing in most heated places for better he...

Happy to help. Don't know much about law or politics but I'm decent with words. I'll also loop in the EVA who I contacted earlier in the thread and ask for their support. It's critical you folks get organised and take on this fight... you do not want a restrictive environment like we have in The Ne...

Re: Mercedes S123 station wagon with Tesla SDU
I want to replace the whole original drive train and fit in a Tesla drive unit controlled by Openinverter. Assuming the Merc is rear wheel drive then I'd recommend the Lexus GS450H as used in the BEXUS and numerous other conversions. This will be a much simpler installation than a Tesla and cost a ...

Re: Where are the cheap Prius transaxles?
A quick search on ebay revealed prices starting above 600€ and shooting up to 1500€. I thought they were like 100€? Please enlighten me. You have to be clear about which version you're after. It's easy to find Gen 2 for 150 GBP and Gen 4 for 450 GBP on retail sites like eBay UK (going direct to the...

Re: Transaxle Modifications
The gen 3 transaxle requires welding of the power split device as like the gen 2 the oil pump is mechanical and driven by the ice input shaft. Any reason we couldn't run a small motor on the ICE input shaft to keep the oil pump happy? Keeping the transaxle sealed has a lot of advantages especially ...
