Neither charger is 3 phase.
So the data connector uses 2 pin sizes. TE part numbers : 5-968221-1 and 1241608-6.
Both available on the usual suppliers like Mouser, RS etc and on Ali for much better prices.

I'd imagine the can is very similar to the E65. Get a log and we can tell.

Re: Do I need to weld if using Gen3 MG2 only
Not with gen2 or 3 as they are not really ev rated by Mr.Toyota. That said if you look at how they work (and Mr.Weber explains this) , a lot of the lube circulation is caused by the rotation of the crownwheel in the differential. I would like to caution folks who just want to run on mg2. I understan...

Re: BMW i3 CCS/charge port controller
While I appreciate the contribution (more than you might imagine!) I'll hold off making any changes to the vcu firmware as I have not personally encountered this problem in almost a year of some very intensive CCS charging during a house move.

Re: MEB Chargers
No I've not done any more work on the charger today got distracted. Agree there seems to be very little information available on the VW ev can. My plan is to get the data plug wired up with the necessary pins to connect to the charge port and lock actuator before messing about with can. I suspect th...

Re: MEB Chargers
So after a bit of digging we have some good news on the 60 pin data plug that seems common to all the chargers. VW part number : 5Q0906379. Ordered from my local dealer for 21 Euros. Will have next week and confirm fit. Its also available online e.g. https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen__/Housing/64431...

Re: MEB Chargers
Got a Golf PHEV charger in the post this morning from Germany. 150 Euros. At first glance CAN messages from this model seem idential to the logs in DomT repo so it does look to be the case that there are different CAN messages used in different models. Also it seems from the wiring that the PHEV cha...

Re: MEB Chargers
Made a Github repo for the charger to start collecting data:
https://github.com/damienmaguire/VW-OnBoard-Charger
Included on there are some logs from today's testing. I think I've found the CAN ids with AC and DC voltages so if anyone wants to help decode them would be much appreciated.

No I wont be taking it apart. The plan is to reverse engineer the CAN messages needed to make it work outside a VW so it can be used in conversions.

Yes the new firmware does need to have the rev number updated. Its on my to do list. As of this release can3 is reserved for chademo and other specialist functions such as swcan for running the volt/ampera heater etc.

I'm also plea...

Re: MEB Chargers
Well, the charger arrived along with charge port and some cables. The 60 pin signal connector is TE part number 2208272-1 which they helpfully have no data available to mere mortals : https://www.te.com/usa-en/product-2208272-1.html A quick search on Ali gives a possibility : https://www.aliexpress....

Re: Could we fund a bespoke SDU inverter ?
To add another dimension, while I was very amazed and humbled by the folks who have arranged and funded the 3d printer for me the fact remains that the vast majority of forum members did not contribute. I would guess the same would apply here. I had a failed SDU inverter a few years back that I trie...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support
You can indeed alter the min and max torque delivered. This is described in the video dealing with the parameters. From reports of others there does indeed seem to be a problem with the torque command in the 450h. This is part of the reason I'm currently installing a 450h system in my E39 as there i...
