Re: 2008 Nissan Quest Van with Tesla SDU. [FINISHED]
Idea maybe (trying to help you): Do you know / have the original axle diameter? Maybe the diameter is also different but the diameter is easy to measure by the sellers so you can compare. Yes the splines are not 1:1 related to it i know; but it could be that its an indicator to know which axle you h...

Re: I think I CAN, I think I CAN...
Well in robotics the same applies. To compare you need for example a robot with IO or 2 robots which need to work together. I'm pretty sure that you want to stop your robot quick (and maybe home position it) if you stop receiving position messages from the other. (Not smart to keep moving without kn...

Can you measure (calculate ) the angle? It's better to have factual numbers then gut feeling.
And if you want to use feeling...how does it feel (rotate) now anyway.
Did you tu to spin it? Vibrations?

Not sure if I untherstand correctly but basically one mount is wrong right? One hole will needs to move inwards so can be re-used? and one outwards. Always difficult without pictures. I think you can mill/redrill the current mounts. If that results in an unacceptable quality at least you have the mo...

Maybe somewhere on the edges threading M2/M3 hole/bolt?
Would go with something durable and have risk while you are at the job, not later something comes loose...
TIG on alloy is allot of heat and IMHO will end in disaster..
What ever you choose fixate it on multiple points.

Oh and about your measurement make sure you are not measuring through diodes of the fets if they have them. Pretty sure if you use the search option you find the way how to measure.

Well what type of motor is it and what type of position feedback it's got? What type of power and nominal voltage?
Now your search can start.
New sensors are available to ehh.

Depending on motor specification obviously the drive/inverter needs Tobe matched. There is no "one size" fits all drive.

Re: i3 Battery pack battery hookup
The challenge is that you need to combine information from 2 BMS's into one for the dashboard.
The second priority is that the OEM BMS doesn't drop out with errors.
In practice you need to solve Charging current setpoints and soc estimates etc. etc.

Re: SDU bolt discussion (split from catphishes project thread)
Just checked, it's a normal m8x1.25. Maybe your threads are damaged? Thank U. Memory served me right. 8-) I was sure the measurement/chart wheren't realistic. @proton : If you remove the bolt and you see it's like touched i advise to retaper with the male standard M8 tap. Alloy thread oxidizes easy...

Re: VX220 with Tesla SDU
The minor diameter plus a bit of tolerance is the tap char / drill size. What remains is thread height x2. I disagree. With a caliper you can't reach that deep in the thread. The thread is a spiral. Also I'm 90% sure I used standard bolts. Plus M8 means it's 8mm outside . The chart gives the toleran...

Re: VX220 with Tesla SDU
I'm pretty sure i didn't buy new bolts for it and that i could fix my mount to it. So if it's any other thing then standard then i'm baffled. The chart and measurement don't match because the minimum diameter is the one of the drill to make the thread. So the plain shaft so to speak. That's why a fi...

Re: VX220 with Tesla SDU
Do you remember what size and specs were the 3 bolts holding the mounting bracket for the heavy side o the SDU motor? everything I have at home seems to get stuck after few turns. Standard M8 if you mean the rear SDU's 'ear'. Since it's alloy sometimes cleaning the threads helps with the correct ta...
