Re: VW electric coolant heater

This is the manufacturer. On the picture it looks a bit different than the VW part, but the voltage is given as 450V http://datasheets.dbk-worldwide.com/EN/Datasheets/WireHeaters/DBKITM_HV%20Water%20heater_eng.pdf Thanks, there are no part numbers listed anywhere. Would this heater from VW e-UP/e-G...

Gen4 Nissan Leaf stack CAN log for analysis

Hi, I've tried running gen4 Nissan Leaf stack with a Zombie and it did not appear to run. PDM is now made by Toyota and has no labelling with charging power etc. It has identical round connectors and wires all seem to be the same. Dcdc converter did not start, there is also no bus voltage info in th...

Hi, does anybody know if this heater works above 400v? ~425-430V would be ideal 😊

Re: Tesla DCDC, Outlander Inverter, Motor and Differential, Outlander Heater & AC, BMW I3 CCS Set [SOLD]

Really sorry to hear this, we've all been waiting to see this on the road. Since so much work has already been done on it perhaps would be worth selling the car as a whole for somebody to complete, would be pitty scrapping the shell? Unless you will keep the shell to start again some time in the fut...

Re: Mixing motors and batteries

Hi, most AC OEM motors/inverters nowadays are designed to work from ~250 to ~400 VDC more or less. Motor and inverter usually has to be matched but some inverters are configurable and can run pretty much any motor (Prius inverters with an OI control board replacement). You can use any battery though...

Re: ID3 ID4 MEB Battery Supported

You would need to modify the firmware Hi, Tom. A question on modifying the firmware. My inverter doesn't control the contactors but it sends a CAN message requesting to close the contactors so I have a separate Due board with some code that responds to the CAN message from inverter via interrupt an...

Leaf EM57 gearbox coupled to 1949 Chrysler M5/6 gearbox. Vibrations reduced to a minimum but is that good enough? 😊

Figured out the missing temperature feedback value on the canbus. Hi, I have a question about reading temps on the Tesla BMS slave boards. Re: Starting a project. Help choosing a motor path....

Well Leaf motor + your gearbox you would have similar weight as the GS450h. It would be pretty simple - just adapter plate and coupler, no clutch needed. You could drive in 3rd most of the time but have the ability to go lower for hill climbing when needed. I wouldn't count on 300H for your applicat...

Re: Starting a project. Help choosing a motor path....

The lexus CVT is 110kw just from MG2, MG1 probably adds another 50kW at least and the leaf certainly can get to 160kW and all provide around 300nm of torque so the motors should be powerful enough to shift the van. I mainly need to ensure power off the starting line, which the GS450H might provide ...

thats quite the distance! a support bearing might be a good idea. but id just bore out the input gear and weld in the leaf splines. so the motor shaft goes into the gearbox. I have bought aforementioned van with the Siemens Elfa2 drivetrain. It has all kinds of problems with the BMS for which there is no technical support. However, there are a bunch of controller boards in between the battery and the Elfa2. It is most likely the best option to remove all those German b...

Re: The Clipper Cab - Converted London Taxis! [FINISHED]

Our approach: We deleted the differential in the leaf, they cut a new hole in the gearbox housing, made a new cover for it, talked a long time about lubrication slushing around and something something brushes and static and put it together. Hi, sorry do you mean you didn't use the original Leaf red...
