Re: [WIP] - Self-propelled Travel Trailer/Home Energy System

For safety of course you wouldn’t want to ever “push” the trailer more than the tow vehicle is pulling Ehn, there's been some back and forth about this. To my mind, it's no different than braking while the trailer pushes. To others, it's a catastrophe waiting to happen and the sky will fall if you ...

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit Prius Gen 3

I'm not sure that cutting springs was the correct solution here. I'm fuzzy on it, but, IIRC cutting springs does 2 things: 1 - For the same weight on the spring, it starts lower. Obviously, as you cut a ring off. 2 - For the same weight on the spring, it's stiffer (17% stiffer in your case, because ...

Hmm, not sure if you intended to do this, but... You didn't use the page I created. You created a really long page called "Operating the buck/boost converter for a low voltage CCS charging application" And as a standalone article, it's not clear what "the" buck/boost converter is...

Re: Twining prius inverters. Implausible idea?

Well... First up, keep in mind that you're probably not losing slow speed acceleration. Even with low voltage you'll still have some pep there. You'll be losing your higher speed acceleration. 22kw is enough to maintain highway speed, but not enough to get to highway speed. ... For the same cost, ar...

I am not clear on 'where' I should document this. Well like many open source projects, the Wiki is a Do-Ocracy. Those willing to do the work decide how it should be done. I would create a... nevermind... Do-ocracy, I'll just do it rather than tell you how you should do it... This page... https://op...

we are always on the lookout for a Lead Fabricator You're aware that I "machined" a coupler by spinning it up full speed on the motor, and then easing a 7" circular saw blade into it yes? Somewhere, deep down inside, you have standards. They're there, I know they are. And mine are lo...

MIVB and MIWB can just remain unconnected at the inverter end. Thank you for confirming. I posted about this a bit on the DIY EC forums. Because you can buy EV200 contactors from batteryhookup.com for $12.50 (Christmas sale), I was figuring that was so damned cheap I'd just use them for almost everything I'd need switched rather than go with some elegant solution. Surely Greg won't finish 2 EVs before I get mine rolling.

6.5 hours to de-ice. I spent 6.5 hours yesterday not even finishing a single bracket yet.

And Greg edits far slower than he works. So this is all long in the past.

If nothing is selected you get a message. Oh, hmm. I hate this. So some weeks into the experiment, how do you get along now? I don't mind abbreviated quoting. No one should really quote that long. Ugh.

The penalty for urgency. Otherwise, Pick N Pull would have them around for $15.

Then again I'm 5 years into my summer project and you're actually getting stuff done, so, $100 here and there is cheap progress.
