I just look at how packed some of the other conversions look under hood and think of the apparent cavernous space in the GMC, and wonder if it's "apparent" or "is" cavernous.

Out of curiosity, what's the distance between the firewall and radiator core support on that old truck? From like the wiper motor mounting point to the core?

This reminds me, time to renew the Patreon'age. Work and life pulled me away from the projects for several months so I paused it, but coming back around. I promise to keep my questions on the forum though!

Definitely like the simplicity of just plug in and go!

I'm waiting on slowboat shipping on the parts needed (amp seal connector) to finish up my Yaris board, but I'm hoping to get that inverter running and then use it for the 12v DC-DC and HV battery charging on my main project.

Re: 67 Thunderbird cruiser. Another GS450H project.

And now the recent purchase that showed up this week. I found a salvage yard on e-bay out in Florida that had a decent price on a 450H with free shipping, but no pictures though. Just ones of the car before it was stripped down. Then when I inquired about getting the inverter too, which they didn't ...

67 Thunderbird cruiser. Another GS450H project.

This is my 1967 Ford Thunderbird. I've had it since 2006 when I bought it from a pawn shop in Colorado and promptly drove it 850 miles home to Nevada. Its got some minor body rust on the rear fenders and parts of the vinyl roof, but otherwise is a pretty solid full framed car. I put it on a scale se...

Re: I bought a BMW 530e onboard battery charger - now what?

I'm envious of you being near Rancho Cordova. I did a day trip there to pick up the Lexus MGR I have. I tried lowballing them a few times on some GS450H's, but they weren't too keen.

Does this unit handle BMS duties for the batteries you are using?

Re: Novice 6x6 ATV conversion

Dusting this off. A month or so I moved the 6x6 over to the car project side of the yard with the thoughts I'd make more progress on it over there. Where I left off is I need to finish up an axle support, two caliper supports, brake lines then the electrical. Yes it was trying to snow last weekend, ...

Re: OEM Pre-charge and Contactor boards

I'm running prius setup with adapter board. Just need to be aware of voltage and current limits with Toyota hardware. Normally HV battery side is limited up to 300vdc by converter, so contacters are lower rated than leaf or tesla I suppose. That was my thoughts on it. I already have a Prius one at ...

OEM Pre-charge and Contactor boards

Before I go hoard some of these, is there a reason we don't see many Prius, Leaf, Tesla(?), etc pre-charge and contactor setups moved into home built cars? Do they rely on PWM's instead of economizers? Lack amp carrying capacity? Other issue? If its amp limited, could a pair be paralleled? Seems lik...

Oof, I'm just starting to dabble in Arduino coding, and its like learning Greek to me. I'm reading these posts carefully. Thanks for plowing through the garbage to find the gems!

My GS450H transmission and inverter should arrive today. Tracking says its in my city as of last night.

Nice job on the Volt charger.

You're looking at 20-24 kwh of battery under the hood? Any plans for more capacity? Or did I under rate the batteries you have? I like the layout.

I very well might! Today I finally plugged in the Arduino I bought like a year ago. I'm going to start dipping my toes into it's programming language.
