Re: WARNING!!! Chevy Volt Battery users
All is good, no one got hurt, just my ego. Gonna have to replace pretty much all of the interior. Not so much because of damage, its because I need get rid of the burnt smell. I didn't consider heat shrink because the lug was short to being with, Like I said I didn't even notice the band around the ...

WARNING!!! Chevy Volt Battery users
I wasn't going to post this because I feel like a totally idiot and should of caught my mistake. But I'm sharing to the group so that my mistake wont happen to others. Many of us are using the Chevy Volt battery for their conversions. I would also say most of us (if not all) are using the battery no...

Re: EV car conversion hardware
My attempt at making a driveshaft for my convert 2006 e46 using the Lexus 450H trans.
I'm sure it won't work for most but, it might give ideas to others.

Re: EV car conversion hardware
Damien used a driveshaft from a BMW 735i North America I don't think the 735i was ever sold here. This might be old news but, I can confirm that a 2006 BMW 750i driveshaft will bolt up to the 450H transaxle. Centre plastic bushing will need to be drilled out using a 5/8" drill bit. Just like Da...

Re: Prius water pump wiring diagram
Seem like the Chevy Volt stuff is control with a steady 100 HZ and varying Duty Cycle. Arduino's have Default frequency's on different pins but non are 100HZ. Here is a link on how to change the Frequency's on a Arduino. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JXGIeM3BSI I haven't tried myself but I'm in t...

Re: Prius water pump wiring diagram
Would you happen to have a diagram with wire colors or a diagram to shows which pin is what?
Scratch that.
I just tried +12V and -12V.
I can confirm that the pump will run WITHOUT PWM signal.
Pin1 (+12V) is the yellow jumper wire.
Will not run if +12V and -12V are reversed.

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Hi everyone, question about oil pump fluid flow. I'm currently benching test GS450H transaxle with the GS450 Inverter and Damien's VCU. When spinning the transaxle say at 500 rpm with Oil Pump NOT running the unit draws approx. 5-8 amps at 200volts. Now with the Oil Pump running the amperage draw in...

Re: Chevy Volt Gen 2 charger 24281923
I've looked high and low but I cant find anywhere the pin layout for the GEN 2 battery charger control plug.
Can someone tell me where Pin 1 is? Or better yet a link to a pinout somewhere would be awesome.
I checked amber's blog and he describes the pins but I really could use the pin layout.
Thanks

Re: GS450H Discussion
Interesting observation/question: I'm running my inverter on a 60v bench power supply ATM that only puts out about 3-4amps. I've noticed that ever since I locked the input shaft on MG1, I can only give it a little throttle or it bogs down and drops voltage to the point that it almost stops spinning...

Re: Chevy Volt Gen 2 charger 24281923
I just pick up a charger from a 2018 Chevy Volt. It look's like GM made a change in the design. They separated the DC to DC converter from the Hi Voltage charger. Part number for Charger = 24286781 Part number for DC to DC converter = 24284603 Would anyone know the wiring diagram and if this one wor...

Re: Trying to compile GVRET using Arduino DUE
Funny thing is that I'm almost positive that I did rename the file after i download it, in the download folder. but after extracting it the Libraries the master part of of the name came back.
OK I'll keep at it. Thanks.

But I get grvet....

Re: GS450H Discussion
You are asking for the stator winding resistance right? Or you asking for resistance from winds to aluminium case of transmission? This number should be above 100meg ohms. Those readings were taken directly of the electrical posts of MG1 and MG2. I had removed the cables going to MG1 and MG2 so ther...

Re: GS450H Discussion
OK I just measured mine, still sitting on the bench.
Room temp was about 0 Celsius
Using Pro quality Fluke MultiMeter
MG1
L1-L2 = .2 ohms
L2-L3 = .2 ohms
L1-L3 = .2 ohms
MG2
L1-L2 = .3ohms
L2-L3 = .3ohms
L3-L1 = .3ohms
