Outlander Battery Pack SOH without car

I was offered a battery pack for my Outlander PHEV. Is it possible to check the SOH of the pack without the whole car?

I did it with Leaf packs using a cheap BT-OBD dongle, 12 V and LeafSpy, but couldn't find anyone who has done this with the Outlander battery though... PHEV watchdog maybe?

Orientation of Leaf cells

Hi guys, I'm planning to upgrade my parents Leaf with a 40 kWh-pack I already bought (thanks to m.art.y ). The old 24 kWh-pack will be used in a home storage system . Afaik the pouch-cells used in the Leaf don't care about orientation or am I wrong? I would like to install the battery leaning on a w...

Re: Citroen CX and Tesla SDU

Very interesting project! I'm also planning to convert a CX. However, I'm very short on time at the moment, so there won't be any documentation here until there's any serious progress. Originally I wanted to fit a GTI Turbo engine, but converting the car to electric has a much greater appeal! My fat...

Using a DC-DC to simulate a solar cell for MPP tracking

I had the following thought last night while I hat to care for my sick children. First of all: I'm not able to contribute anything, but I like the idea 😉 Has anyone ever tried to generate the characteristic curve of a solar cell with a microcontroller and, for example, a Prius DC-DC? Wouldn't it be ...

Re: Make grid tie inverter work off grid, $100 REWARD FOR SOLUTION

One thing to have in mind is, that grid tie inverters have to react on frequency changes of the grid. (at least in Germany/Europe)

As any change in load has an effect on frequency, the load/frequency control has to be rather fast I think.

Re: EV MPPT for E-Golf 2020

I thought about the same thing a few years ago with my old Clio electric. I found this company.

I wanted to use something like the ambiCONVERT DC-DC but in 2019 they only had prototypes.

Maybe this will help someone in this matter!?

Re: Renault Clio Electrique -97

I owned two of the electric Clios Bexander modified. The car with LiFePo4-Mod was sold about a year ago. The original car was sold just two weeks ago. As far as I know, there were 250 vehicles built. But I'm not sure if that's true. The radiator was used for cooling the NiCd battery's. The Peugeot/ ...

Just found this and thought it might also be interesting for cooling of e.g. batteries.

The water heaters in VAG GTE / E models are controlled via LIN-Bus. I have the pinout somewhere. If anybody is interrested, I can start searching in my digital mess... ;)

Re: water / flood sensor

I thought about this for better cooling of my charger and remembered, that large transformations are filled with oil.

As I plan to replace my charger with a TC Charger anyway, I never really looked for details.

Re: Where are the cheap Prius transaxles?

I cleaned up the shed today to be able to do some more development work there. First thing I want to equip myself with would be a Prius transaxle. A quick search on ebay revealed prices starting above 600€ and shooting up to 1500€. I thought they were like 100€? Please enlighten me. Also thinking w...
