Hi everyone.
Thoroughly enjoyed the gig, and as such there is even more to ponder.
Thanks again guys.

Yes agreed.
a Super gig all round, and many thanks to the Tog Hackerspace guys.
Last, but not least, hope the Red Arrow is on it's way home with a brand new NCT. Keep away from the Champers until you are home.

Re: 1PV5131 Siemens Motor
Thanks Yaroslav. Yes Indeed, The enclosed encoder in the bearing would be best, and just feed the harness up to the circular connector, however I am reluctant to open rear of motor as it is a water cooled motor and don't want to upset any seals etc. I also would have to get exact matching size which...

Re: 1PV5131 Siemens Motor
Thanks Guys for the feedback, I really appreciate it. As the aforementioned motor is a bit under powered, I would definitely require some sort of encoder to gain the max torque etc. So I guess I should start experimenting, It must be really small as I only have about three or four cm to play with, b...

1PV5131 Siemens Motor
Hi There. I managed to acquire two 1PV5131-4WS52-ZW11 Siemen's Motors a few years ago and I tested them with Johanne's Openinverter and a Gen2 Prius inverter with total success. However I did not read the label correctly and mistook 'Encoder No' to mean the 'Encoder Number'. The 12 pin circular conn...

Came across this a good few years ago now, found myself gathering, studying, tinkering with 'things' from scrappies, even know their names now and they certainly know me. Won't give up soccer, cycling and golf, but pretty much everything else has been put aside for this craziness. Hats off to you Jo...

Re: Shipping to Great Britain possible again!
I went to buy a motor from the UK to be delivered to Ireland. He couldn't tell me what taxes I was liable for.
And I am just an innocent purchaser. But if they don't know how can anyone else. ?
In truth nobody knows I fear.

Re: Rev2 No PWM [SOLVED]
Hi There just reading this now so apologies for delay. I would start again with first checking the Pin layout for 11, 13 17 on the main board are tied high. Don't forget they are not set as pin 1,2,3,4 etc, but rather 2,1,4,3 etc. See wiki. Set Inverter to default settings. When you have established...

Re: Poor mans ChaDeMo charger (1-phase)
Great stuff Damien. I have to say when Johannes started this thread I was thrilled, only to discover that disclaimers started appearing around every corner. To me it took a bit of the fun out of it, particularly as I was only interested in the single phase charging. ( Three phase not an option for m...

Great work on the Audi.

Re: IGBTs for sale
Looks like you will need two units per phase as they don't seem to be Half bridges. Six for a three phase power section.
If so, you could make a serious DC controller with them instead.

Although not remotely ready, it's impossible not to go for this, I'll say 12 units but hoping to say 18 depending on my progress.

Re: Re-wiring induction motors for more power
Thought rewinding was dead. Last year I completed a rewind of a originally 7KW ACIM. Still in my shed untested but when I complete a power section for a Rev2 inverter I will use it and test accordingly. Wired in delta mode and using 8 x 27 metres of 0.91 gauge cable approx per phase. The process its...

Re: List of motor manufacturer
Have to agree with Arber and Kevin here. I have experimented with lower voltage ACIM motors to the extent that I even rewound one to a far lower voltage than original. I might use it on a motorbike or similar but ultimately using a OEM piece of kit is the way forward from both a time perspective and...
