Hello,
Ollie and Alex built a manual lever for the P-Brake on the Nissan Leaf gearbox. Fits the pulley of our shifter perfectly.
This is how it also works in the eNV200.
Custom made cogs and everything. See below.
See it in action:

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Yes, of course, Amps destroy it when trying to charge at low voltage. Now, I parsed & plotted the messages the charger sends. Working working_wet_charge.png Broken broken_non_charging.png Some thoughts: - Nice to see: AC voltage drop from 240 to 226 as soon as there is a load (expected) - BMS re...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Ok, I am digging into CAN today, but I suspect I won't find anything. I wonder if I had a bad connection on the DC side, which made the charger see less than 200V for a brief moment, making it self-destruct. 1) I could parse the charger messages in my VCU (using chademo.h), and if udc is < 250V disa...

Re: Overcurrent at high RPMs when regen engages?
Hello, this previously happened at 60mph for us, now yesterday it only happened at 80mph, info from the test drive: RegenRamp at 0.1% managed to get to stall around 80mph once, couldn't seem to recreate, but not sure I got up to 80mph again. The plot attached is trying to get it to stall, but not th...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Ok, good news is I wasn't able to break it by changing these variables mid-charge :) Bad news for me is that I am still trying to figure out how I broke the chargers :( Now two dumps are attached below, I don't know the charger internals I am looking for, can someone see if there are signs of spikes...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Cooling was fine I think, I touched it a bunch afterwards and the gearbox/inverter were warm from the drive, charger not really. I agree, it might be a coincidence, but it dropped out just as I pressed enter. What else should I capture when I run my stress test? What plot would be helpful additional...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Ok, one more idea: I have the wet charger here that still charges on one module and that can be sacrificed.
I can set CAN up to be dumped continuously and then we can stress it and see if we can get it to break while capturing?

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
For the limits my understanding is that the firmware takes MIN of all limits to determine what to do in the end? aclim = MIN(cablelim, iaclim, evselim, hwaclim) dclim = MIN(idcspnt, idclim) Pure speculation :) ...What if the user makes a typo like 32.0 or 32,0 and 320 gets requested internally? ... ...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Correct, seems bricked, I tried all individual modules in it, but hwaclim, aclim, udc remain 0 for chargerena {1,2,4}. For the ramp: It was quite a small change though, it sat at 29.2A / ~ 6960W and I increased it to 32A / 7680W. Also, the EVSELimit was 29.9A or similar, so surely that limit would h...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Or asked another way: What could I try to narrow this down further? Some ideas: - take the connectors out, put them between a battery and a load and measure voltage drop to rule cabling out - I can take a look at the CAN dumps, but what am I looking for? It's a shame I haven't got a log from the mom...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Thanks for checking. Yes, single phase wired to all modules. Wiring looked OK, connectors rated for 30A. Interrupts from updating the value while charging making the firmware run out of time for another important operation? Let me know if you need anything else. I am now wondering if the "wet&q...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Mybe the conversion from 32A to the charger is slightly off so that it translates in a rolledover value bitwise..?? Maybe a check: can anyone else charge with 32A setting ... Good idea, but the limit is 45A, so I would be surprised if that is the case. I just captured a CAN dump back to back with t...

Re: Tesla Charger alternative firmware
Does increasing iaclim while charging break a GEN2 charger? I was charging at ~16A DC @ 360V at a public charge point, ~29A AC. Then I saw that iaclim was slightly lower than what the charge point could do and increased iaclim while charging from 29A to 32A. The charge dropped off. Reconnected and ...

[*] Would REALLY love to see "idcmax" and "idcmin" values in the mappable overview, as i think they are essential, if not obligatory, for every built. No one should drive an electric car without these values! Zapatero I was just looking into this again, as I wanted to set idcmin...

Re: Registering and changing tax class of an EV conversion in the UK
Hello, we got three letters from the DVLA today cementing their decision: - they reverted their decision on our '02 vehicle and are asking for £260 tax for the years where they "erroneously" changed it to be electric and tax free - they reverted their decision on our '07 vehicle with the s...

Thanks Pablo, I hope it helps.
Just saw that the board even made its way into Johannes recent video about the A2 installation.
Brave man to plug it in with naked hands, I always put the gloves on at that stage!

Leaf Yeah, I would be cautiously optimistic about buying a flooded one. The Leaf pack is pressure tested in the factory (if they follow their own workshop manual at least). Tesla Mind Teslas that were wet in the passenger compartment though, I happen to have some experience with that: https://openi...

Re: Update via wifi fails
..2SPC.. Yes, the STM32 side is straightforward I think and makes sense. I think the ESP is spamming and confusing the STM on the other hand, here is an example from the fast baudrate section: I can delete debug messages, but am worried I will delete too many and then lack functionality later on - ...
