Re: MG F - Outlander Rear differential with Prius Gen 2 Inverter.
Efficiency difference should be just 1-2% at most with a FWD style gearbox vs. EV single reduction.

These work fine too instead of a hoist, if you have somewhere to hang it securely.

UK car breakers seem like a mess, you might just pick your phone and ring your local yards for whatever you are interested in. Only reasonable online presence seems to be for auctioning whole cars: https://www.copart.co.uk/

Re: Lexus RX400H FWD Inverter Teardown! Lots of Pictures!
Thanks for sharing! I was looking into these units and why they are so expensive, turns out early RX400 models had a recall for inverter failures. Seems that there´s a market for used ones - explains the 500€ price on ebay..

Re: Toyota RAV4 Inverter Hacking
Any further info on these? Can you use any existing board to run one of MG outputs or is there something special going on?
Edit: I suppose this is the same deal as with RX450 inverter?

Re: High voltage cables how do people do it.
Also, you can get ring terminals with varying material thicknesses. Some EV conversion shops sell really thick ones that I personally prefer. If you know someone working with HV installations in industrial or power utility you might get some very cheap or free high quality ring terminals. Likely th...

Re: High voltage cables how do people do it.
Relying on solder for mechanichal connection is a super bad idea, you understand what happens when your solder melts away and your cables detach from those terminals?

Toyota Prius Gen 2 inverter + Lexus MGR + MGR harness
Bought from ebay, Lithuanian wreckers few months back. Not top tier stuff, but no boat anchors either, I think I paid 400€ or a bit less for all. Harness has battery cables front to back, MGR power cables and sensor wires/plugs. Pretty much all the HV shielded cables you'll need for a low power proj...

Re: Skoda Octavia Estate 2001
Octavia mk1 should be related to mk4 golf platform, so gearbox is likely 02J.family. Flanges should be 108mm, for shorter shafts I'm not too convinced that older stuff has proper splines for joints on either end? But anyways there should be tons of seats, audis, skodas etc. with 02J boxes and differ...

Re: Skoda Octavia Estate 2001
I got the impression that towing is a big part of your work, so I want to go through that with a bit more detail. Apparently you are allowed to tow 1200kg with the smallest petrol engined variant of your car, so lets use that as the minimum benchmark. It has 148nm of peak torque at over 4000 rpm, an...

Re: Skoda Octavia Estate 2001
With your budget I would look at Leaf with a battery upgrade. I dont think you can tow 1300kg with it, but for lighter loads it seems pretty efficient according this guys experience: https://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/2011-nissan-leaf-modifications-efficiency-utility-36473.html For heavier t...

Before changing STM, I would check for other failed components. You practically created a short with +12v directly to ground through board.

And those pretty waves we see only with a spinning rotor, right? With rotor/resolver standing you have only 2 steady values for sin/cos.

I think those values are all over the place, you could look at what pins should receive from STM32 datasheet:
