Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
Removing the R section was fairly straight forward. I found some shrapnel inside the housing between the two bearings. The shrapnel was from a bearing cage but the cages on the two bearings inside the R section were fine. I conclude a bearing (the smaller rear bearing) had been previously replaced ...

Re: [WIP] 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-55 to EVJ-55
Yesterday I removed the ravigneaux section with the intent to have a few mm machined off the back end to facilitate making an adapter plate for my transfer case.. I'll be taking it and my transfer case to my buddy Peter's place to 3D scan the two faces.
After removing the ravigneaux section, I ...

Re: [WIP] 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-55 to EVJ-55
Finally got the transmission placed where I think it'll fit with only minor reworking of the trans tunnel. Built a cross member and re-used a tranny mount from another truck.

Re: GS450H Adapter Plate
I know Herb you plan on welding but it would be nice to have a bolt in option.
Welding is simple for me but I'm not averse to there being a bolt pattern and I can CAD my own adapter plate to match the bolt pattern you decide on, to mount to my shaft adapter+clutch plate. It just means having ...

Re: GS450H Adapter Plate
I believe I saw somewhere that we can just use TOYOTA clutch plates which have the same splines, this is on my to do list to find which MAKES will work, I am bumping it up my list now. Anyone know off hand any 2007-12 era manual transmission Toyota car Models or there abouts?
I only know about ...

Re: GS450H Adapter Plate
I was planning to make a custom cross-member that bolted to existing bolt holes on the bell housing so I don't need anything special and if others want ears or what have you, I can always cut them off or use them. I would likely have to modify whatever design to adapt my clutch plate adapter anyway ...

Re: [WIP] 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-55 to EVJ-55
I finally got enough metal work done to do away with the rotisserie and do a test drop onto the chassis to check for transmission fitment issues.

And if you guys have the ls600h bellhousing pattern and can share it, I can make that version too.

Re: [WIP] 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-55 to EVJ-55
Kind of all over the place. I ordered some new bearings for the oil pump because I figure it's easier to replace them now when there's not all kinds of sheet metal in the way.

Re: [WIP] 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-55 to EVJ-55
You can find teensy 3.2 on eBay for 70$ 🤷🏼♂️
I don't think I get it. The teensy 3.2 is just an AVR board (that has apparently been superceded by a Teensy 4.0?) but that a SimpBMS board has additional components/connectors on it. So are you saying I only need an AVR with a CAN interface and I ...

Re: [WIP] 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-55 to EVJ-55
My initial goal was to use that software to assess the state of each pack and the software appears to have some way to check the level of each cell. I should mention that I'm still in read/learn mode on this whole project and I did look at SimpBMS which is at the deep-end of the pool (for me) not to ...

I have achieved "spinning flanges".

It's not bolted up and just kinda supported by a block of wood so it's shaking a bit.
@TongueTester Have you got your Ravigneaux case off yet?

Re: Connecting a GS450H to an existing Transfer Case?
I estimate that the L110f transfer gets about 36mm of shaft engagement based on the measurements and summary below.
18mm from edge of transfer case input shaft to where the spline taper finishes
about 10mm from mating face to edge of transfer case input shaft
We've already established that I ...

Not much to report. My spring TODO list is getting in the way of progress plus I'm having to learn how to hammer form some wheel arches but that's out of scope for this forum. I also bought the inverter from the same vehicle the transmission came from.
