Re: Toyota Auris and Yaris Inverter Logic board
Hmm, learning something new. What I thought was a "gen3" inverter came from a Prius C, and has the G9200-52010 number on it. Yup, if the part number was not enough, looks like the 2014 Prius C inverter is the same as the Yaris. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/e313/TheSilverBuick/IM...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
It's a collaborative effort. The pic was based on the assumptions of someone who had no idea what they were doing (me). At that moment I didn't knew it was an effort, but not the picture from Damien himself as an author of the board. Comlete realisation of how things work here came to my mind not s...

Re: Novice 6x6 ATV conversion
Some second hand Damien boards are on their way. Coming from overseas so not sure when they will arrive. In the meantime I've started gathering more hardware for the conversion. A little background. The 6x6 operates as a skidsteer, it had a transmission with two differential carriers, left and right...

Dumb guy question, what is a desat event? Does the shut down fully protect the hardware?
Sounds like over current and circuit breaker tripping from the high gear load but I really don't know

Novice 6x6 ATV conversion
My introduction, my name is Randal and I'm starting my adventure into electric power conversion. Some background on me, I'm not an electrical engineer, nor even work in an electric field, I am a mining/exploration geologist. So I'm prone to using wrong terms and mis-understanding concepts but I'm wi...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
I only have a basic/general understanding on electronics and technical terminology, so have limited ability to correct (or improve designs) so I too lean heavily on the wiki information. My follow up question was simply asking if you put a voltmeter on the motor leads what voltage would be seen? App...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
In this video there is 30 Volts going thrue green wires. BTW, I've performed another low current test from my 75 volts battery pack: https://youtu.be/qOs3uO4y2YI Follow up question. 30v and 75v power supply tests, what voltage(s) are you running to the test motor? I'm thinking before I wire up the ...
Re: Introduction and a few basic questions.
Picked up a Lexus/Toyota MGR for $100 today. Was supposed to be a 2012 unit, but when they brought it out it was missing the axle shafts that were in the advertisement, so they went back and found a less pretty 2006 one. At least the copper connectors are clear of corrosion and there is a 1 year war...

Thank you Matt. Are you able to provide a purchase and shipping quote to the United States. Sparks, Nevada 89436? As Matt mentioned, I'm looking for a Gen2 inverters control board.

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
I figured as much. Thanks for confirming. I've got a Prius inverter for $50, hopefully today picking up a 2012 Highlander MGR for $100. So $150 into converting my ATV to electric. I'd like to keep the "proof of concept" cost down as much as possible. Hence the appeal of the through hole bo...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
Nice! I've got no qualms assembling a through hole bare board, just need to get a hold of one. If I come up empty handed I'll let you know, though if you think yours will start collecting dust I could see buying it, but don't stop testing yet! Thank you for the explanation, and I like the idea of a ...

Re: Toyota Prius Gen 2 Inverter Controller
I'll mull it over some more. I do not have a background in electrical engineering, or computers, I'm a geologist with a car hobby, so will have to do some research on getting one off board fabricated. I'm open to pointers! Or maybe I'll put a want ad on the classified board to see if anyone is sitti...

Re: Gen 3 inverter converter control software
I was implementing the input side precharge by boosting battery voltage to 600V to the MG1/MG2 HV bus. As it turned out, my PWM went way too high for just charging a capacitor. There were a series of bangs and the last MG side voltage values I saw were over 1000 volts. Now when I power it up with t...

Re: Introduction and a few basic questions.
Yeah, my first EFI conversion in 2008 was a simple GM throttle body injection setup I bolted on my '67 Thunderbird. Used a basic MS1 ecu. Car never started as easy as it did with that TBI, but I never got the throttle linkage geometry right and it was touchy off idle and would be at WOT at half peda...
Re: Introduction and a few basic questions.
I get what you are saying. I've built a few of these MegaSquirt boards to fuel inject my old cars. One is on its 11th year and well over 100,000 miles, but I've seen LOTS of people give up on it too. Maybe its nostalgia, but there is some excitement about starting my next car hobby technology leap w...
