Re: [DRIVING] 1970 VW Beetle, Gen2 Leaf motor.
Here's a few photos of some local car meets I've been to recently, I've also fitted a Gen2 Tesla charger with Damien's control board behind the rear seat. The original 3.3kw Tc charger failed on me. Tesla charger has worked flawlessly so far.

Gen2 Leaf Parameters 5.32
Hey Guys,
I've lost my set of parameters for my gen2 Leaf when I had to replace my board. I've got it mostly ok but it isn't quite right. Does anyone have a Json file for the current firmware I can compare with? I've been playing with Pete's simulator but am struggling to get anything comparable to ...

Re: Measuring IPM Motor Parameters from Plots
Hey Pete,
Been meaning to do this for a while now but home renovations have taken most of my spare time and the beetle hasn't been driven much. I've taken some logs of my leaf motor and inverter. See attached. I've got the following results.
Log10: Lq 0.341, Ld 0.12, Flux Linkage 73mWb

The above link are the parameters Johannes posted of his Touran in the simulator thread, I am also running these parameters in my leaf motor and have been happy with it.

Hey Guys,
Just went for a short run with the new firmware in my beetle running the leaf motor/inverter. First impressions are brilliant! Power delivery was smooth through out the rev range and same for regen. Looking forward to go for a longer drive tomorrow π Big thanks to Johannes, Pete and ...

Re: Chademo Controller Development
Man that sucks :| Is this problem on chargers you've used before? I've been meaning to post about this, I had modify your board so there is a voltage divider on in2. in1 and in2 are connected to contactors/ pins 2 and 10 directly. I then just had out2 on my bms cutout. I think the circontrol station ...

Re: Chademo Controller Development
Using V2 :) The charger stops at exactly 2mins everytime, I'm thinking a compatibility issue. I'll get a CAN log over the next few days.
One thing I found on the V2 board is the 3v3 wasn't connected to the can transceivers, The traces are there but a through hole is missing to join them. Great job ...

Re: Chademo Controller Development
Hey Guys, I've set up a due with bigpies shield in the wiki. Testing on a nearby charger it stops charging after almost exactly 2mins every time I test it. Its a Tritium PK350 "ultra rapid charger". Has anyone else had a similar issue? I'm Planning on testing on the next closest station tomorrow ...

Re: Inverter Firmware 5.20.R
I've tried this firmware out briefly in my beetle and leaf motor using your parameters Johannes. It is great! Seems to have more power down low and didn't have any unwanted regen. Great work on the simulator Pete and Johannes and others! I didn't have time to grab any logs if you need them but ...

Re: Chademo Controller Development
I have found a hardware fault, fitted to the board is a bsp75n low side driver and on the schematic is a ncv8402. The difference is the bsp75n has the source on the tab and the ncv8402 has the drain on the tab. I wondered why the the HV enable pin was earthed the all the time

Re: Chademo Controller Development
I took a quick CAN log today, unfortunately the software i'm using won't convert to an easily readable file. Here is a screenshot from after the isolation test and the contactors were closed. I need to read up on chademo protocol, but it seems like the controller isn't sending any current request.

Re: Chademo Controller Development
It will be good to see it moving again! I was hoping to take my car to try a different station and get a can log but it was out of order. When I got back I powered up the chademo controller and hooked up my wall charger just to confirm correct idc reading. That all looked pretty good to me.. One ...

Re: Chademo Controller Development
Ok so I tested several configurations and can't seem to find the issue, though I did have some interesting settings issues.
First, in all cases the error message from the Electrify America charger was 23_00H_0 This occurred after the station appeared to begin delivering power. Watching on the web ...

Re: suggestions for the next release 5.17 -> 5.18
Went to do some testing today, turn on ignition and no wifi... I removed plastic sealing plate around the LV plug and spotted the wifi module in the bottom
. Looks like I'm splitting the inverter next weekend and making sure I glue it in place
. No new firmware testing for me
sorry guys.

Re: 1970 VW Beetle, Gen2 Leaf motor.
Thanks! It sure does. There are still some improvements to be made as well, I've been battling a over overcurrent trip on regen at high rpm as some others have been struggling with too.

Re: suggestions for the next release 5.17 -> 5.18
Just to add further confusion, I've been driving with the 5.14 firmware with the attached parameters. If I very slowly release the accelerator pedal I don't get the over current trip above 7000rpm, I still get the unintended regen though even if I turn regen off. But I can control how much regen ...

Re: 1970 VW Beetle, Gen2 Leaf motor.
I've done some range testing and tuning over the last few weeks, I can get about 100km highway driving and 150km+ around town. Pretty happy with that considering the small battery.
Performance wise I am stoked, 0 to 100 in approx 5.5 seconds and hoping to take it down the 1/4mile soon. I anticipate ...
