Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
Personally i like more compile time changes and building with make 2 versions of the hex/bin. But i guess its a taste thing... the reason is that compile time variations means no IF statements in the code when we have a variation point. (higher performance). Also for the developer it makes it clear...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support
Does anybody have a suggestion how to solder this chip on the board correctly? I am using a hot air gun though but it feels like playing with lego while wearing boxing gloves. I am very close to throw the board into the bin and wait until I can order a board that is fully populated Really, it just ...

Re: ZombieVerter VCU Support
Further to my post this morning I proceeded to modify the current master branch from the repo as follows : NOTE In case it's not obvious, were talking about making these changes in the libopeninv includes.. if you properly clone the repository with git On the command line that looks like this; git ...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
Just pulled a fresh clone the repository and made sure that specify to git to recursively clone submodules! On the command line that looks like this; git clone --recurse-submodules git@github.com:damienmaguire/Stm32-vcu.git That pulls in copies of libopeninv, etc... Just testing a rebase of GD_zombi...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
So I doubt the GD_Zombie branch will run on a GD Ooff.. Well that is both frustrating, and reassuring. suppose i shall stop bashing my head whilst trying to get it to run as-is on my GD Zombie boards. The ADC conversion works fine without it. Just for the sake of context, and in case anyone else is...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
Is this GD version of the ZombieVerter VCU going to receive updates? https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=33758#p33758 Thanks for that. I had searched the forum for "GigaDevices, & GD32F107" before asking, but those searches didn't turn up that post. As was requested in that...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
https://vimeo.com/640929191 Hello. Bought two of these boards from the EVBMW webshop. They are equipped with the GD32F107 plc. Trying to determine if the GigaDevices version of this hardware is now considered abandonware? Looking at the wiki ZombieVerter_VCU it says NOTE. Early boards fitted with t...

Re: The ZombieVerter VCU Project
Release boards have arrived and will ship to customers in the next week. They now have the ST mcu fitted. This is good news. Q: Is there a change log somewhere? I have two of the beta boards, and wondering if there are modifications that should be done to improve / remedy them in anyway. Should I o...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
I've had the top cover off, They crack in half right at the mid point of the aluminum enclosure. They are a real bugger to get apart, but there is a trick to getting in there. Once you figure it out the first time it's easy afterwards. I suspect that that there are a lot of flood damaged inverters ...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Is there a minimum voltage you would recommend to use in testing? I have access to plenty of 12v batteries I can wire in series, have a circuit breaker I can use also. How would I check the capacitor? Thank you for your help. 3 out of 5 US market gs450 inverters that we bought had water damage insi...

That MPC25625 was a nasty little bugger to fit onto the Zombie Brain! I hope I got all those pads nice and seated.

Got my boards today! Thanks Jack
I need to fit the MCP25625's, Jack included the parts with my boards. Anybody done a video on fitting this part? Should I make a video?

Bryson, did you get these into a "Arturk" branch yet? If not, I will do it today.
Thanks for following up with the part number. It has been added to the GS450H wiki.86elcamino wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 11:53 pm I did get the part number for the connector going into the trans case: 82125-50100

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Anyone have suggestions? Looks like there isn't much option here, other than to crack open the casting and rewire it up from the terminal block. This is why I won't buy units from breakers online. Without seeing in person, there is no way to know what you are getting. Maybe you can return it? Some ...

There is less value added to this discussion if your code is off in a silo, inaccessible to the rest of us engineers. The only way that open s...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
With some more seat time, it does seem related to lower throttle inputs, and goes away under heavier throttle. Maybe I’m fighting drivetrain slack? Awe man sorry to hear that! Was hoping it was a simple fix. At least by adding the shielding you've reduced the variables. Can you make video to help i...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
I've edited the GS450H WIKI to remove the misleading information about the Camry inverter, and make it more clear, that this is still an unknown. There are numerous models of inverters in use in the Camry line. Since the Camry is a much wider application than the GS450H, there are a lot more variati...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
I have a G9200-33030 Camry inverter. Runs the GS450H box in forward direction but stutters in reverse and stops. Just tested with bench test. I wonder if this could be an issue with misplaced conductors on the resolver? It would be possible to look up the diagrams and schematics on the conductors o...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
So it seems there is a lot of confusion about using CAMRY inverters for this platform. My assumption is that users who have failed to get good results with the inverter are using the G9200-33020, from a 2007-2011 Camry NAFTA vehicle. This is the inverter that is recommended at the time of this writi...
