Re: Which classic cars would the Lexus MGR suit?

Not sure it qualifies as a classic, but I'd like to have a crack at a Smart Roadster. Custom rear subframe taking inspiration from the hybusa converted Smarts, maybe even converting it to awd by popping a second MGR up front. but to begin with, the existing subframe should be easy enough to work wit...

Re: Tesla Battery Day - New 4680 Cell

If you think about it, it's the same route smart phones took in having to maximise the available space for batteries and making them harder or impossible to swap out (looking at Apple, but all of them really except say Fairphone (take a look)). Integral batteries as structural elements have been tal...

Re: Registering and changing tax class of an EV conversion in the UK

Rishi would certainly be interested in the duty, but there's also the transport minister (Shapps) and environment minister (Eustace) to consider too. Perhaps targeting Labour Shadow minsters first to get the issue raised, get their attention and their help in shaping a larger campaign? Perhaps less ...

indeed, very cool.

You can see how the BMS detaches and attaches. Very modular modules :D

Re: Getting started - Batteries not included

Thanks for the HV/battery info. My thinking and some scribbled numbers and torque curve graphs make me think the MGR might work in it's first iteration, as a city car with the BMW batteries certainly. I also only just do a chilled 56mph on cruise on mostly M-way driving. Although yeah, MGR is occasi...

Getting started - Batteries not included

Still a ways off getting any type of project started, but I have my eye on a Toyota MGR, and a Prius Gen 3 inverter, given the activity around them. Plan is to convert my Audi A2 (1.6 FSI Sport) Anyway, question is. I can see myself getting the motor and inverter, getting the Gen 3 board, but I was ...

Re: Reorg wiki pages

It might just have to. Move them all to a summary page and replace what's there with an explanation and pointer. I've tried to retain a 'core' open inverter line of information, but also try to show the related projects in relation to it. Wikis aren't the easiest to style or layout, but they're not ...

Re: How this works

Can I suggest this section is split/spun out and sits at the top of the forum board index? Above Hardware? Not sure what the page views are but personally, I settle on the board index and look over the unread threads. This section sits almost at the bottom, but would perhaps benefit from sitting at ...

Re: Reorg wiki pages

I've been messing around a bit further with the main page and had a go at starting to dive deeper into the pages that should sit behind it. I'll likely suck up the information and photos on the forum and plan on initially focusing on the Toyota MGR motor. To flesh out the page for that as it appears...

Re: Info on BMW hybrid battery packs?

Excellent photos and videos. Do you have the length of a module?

I know it was listed earlier in the thread but wondering the lengths, and I suppose the height, with the BMS modules in different locations.

Cheers

Re: Reorg wiki pages

Was thinking along the same lines. Tricky to say what as I’m the wrong side of doing a project. My thoughts were to have a consistent template for each type component. Motors I was thinking of an intermediate page listing key facts about them to then jump to much more detailed . Mainly type (FOC (se...

Thanks Matt

I'm worried I've overwritten your edit/s whilst I've been in and out of the page whilst doing my day job which allows some nice collaboration on the same page at the same time, but don't think the wiki does.

Apologises if I have wiped out your edit.

Re: Reorg wiki pages

What's the plan with the wiki? Should there be a OEM Hardware section where the details about inverters and motors people are discovering should be listed instead of spread across potentially multiple threads? Not that they shouldn't be there as their projects move forward and they discover things. ...
