MG ZS EV Shift Controller

There's no MG subsection so I'll ask here. I'm using a Tesla SDU w/OI in a Honda S2000 (hmm, no mention of MG yet?). BUT, I'm using the battery and other electronics out of an MG ZS EV (Ahh, there it is!). The OpenInverter board simple uses a three position switch for shift select. I have it wired a...

Re: Throttle pedal safety

Gotta love answering your own questions. Yes, the resistance on channel 2 is higher hence the voltage range lower.

It's currently set to 0 for testing purposes. I need to look through the Parameters glossary to understand what all these settings are for.

Re: Throttle pedal safety

Came over from a link on my post about first spin up of a Tesla SDU.

You mention Dual Throttle channels. The pedal I am using is the Bosch one from the MG ZS EV. It is dual channel. Anyone know if the second channel is 0.4 to 2.1V? I will of course check but wondering if anyone knows?

[WIP] Honda S2000 w Tesla SDU (w/OI) and MG ZS EV battery (and electronics)

I'm converting a Honda S2000 to EV. image.jpeg Http://youtube.com/@evs2k I started this project by buying a Tesla SDU and fitting it to the S2000 subframe. I then went on a search for batteries and electronics to fill the rest of the gaps. I needed a modular battery so I could custom package it in p...

I read through the first seven pages and skimmed through the last few.

Did this ever get productised? Couldn’t see it in the shop.

Hmm, my MG ZS EV pack has a max voltage of 453v (108s). Best be careful.

Re: SDU first spin up

I would still appreciate someone having a look through my JSON and making any suggestions. I have a very limited understanding of what any of those fields are at present. Sure there's a look up some where. One out of spec thing I am doing is running this motor with a reconfigured MG ZS EV battery. S...

Please state what you change so other who just as bad at searching the forum find your fix. SDU first spin up

I have the modified (running backwards, ghetto LSD) Tesla SDU with OpenInverter installed in a subframe and all wired up. I am using the following wiring diagram with the contractor box from the MG ZS EV. I added an extra line to close the Main Negative contactor on Ignition. When I flick the Igniti...

Re: Basic Tesla SDU question

Ahh, ok. I assume that is the contactor coil shown in the diagram on the Main and Pre-charge lines. So the OpenInverter board pulls them low when it switches them on.

Makes perfect sense now thanks.

Basic Tesla SDU question

I have a Tesla SDU with OpenInverter board and a repackaged MG ZS EV battery. The MG battery comes with a 'penthouse' with contractors and pre-charge relay. The wiring to the OpenInverter comms connector shows lines for 'main contractor [sic] relay' (P3) and 'pre-charge relay' (P11) Screenshot 2024-...

Re: Tesla SDU _> S2000 dash cluster

Unfortunately the sdu board doesn't export the pwm signal so you will need something external to drive the cluster I've got the output side of the project working: https://youtu.be/jkfO0K9v1hA About to start work on the input (Canbus) side. But anyone know what this is? Screenshot 2024-04-30 at 1.2...
