Re: [WIP] 1986 Ex-Military Land Rover 110 - GS450H
It's good to know that the ID3 PTC fits into the heater box! Can you share the controls? In case your project takes as long as mine: I'm looking into on an ESP32-based dash control that allows to use the original gauges, lamps, etc. Probably in late summer. In case you want to keep the archaic vibe,...

Re: Start sequence for OEM motor
Thanks, your help is much appreciated! This is the motor data plate: motor_data_plate.jpg And the inverter: inverter_data_plate.jpg Both have been manufactured by a small Chinese distributer, called Zhejiang Alpha Electrics, which doesn't exist anymore. The motor is labelled with "KCEC" on...

Re: Start sequence for OEM motor
I haven't got any experience with CAN FD. Though, communication works in general and I think the CAN matrix makes sense. I can read the motor RPM while rotating the shaft, read the correct HV that the MCU reports, and I also see the errors popping up when I remove the MCU-motor LV cabling. The only ...

Re: [WIP] Defender with Tesla pack and Chinese PMSM
Thanks for sharing! I wasn't aware of version 7 of the GEVCU, neither of your approach, which both seem to use some kind of cooperative multi-tasking. All the double work is a pity, indeed, but I think this is mainly due to several people seeing an application gap and starting to work on it more or ...

[WIP] Defender with Tesla pack and Chinese PMSM
I've been observing your projects for a while now and would like to present my own work in progress. But first, a big thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing wealth of knowledge on reusing OEM parts! Ideation: In 2019, a friend and me did kind of a charity rally to Malawi. On our way t...

Start sequence for OEM motor
Dear community, It's been a few years since I purchased a PMSM motor and controller from the Chinese OEM market. Back in 2019, knowledge on using scrapped parts wasn't as developed and the Tesla Model S drive units were too expensive. Since then, the motor is sitting here, and from time to time I tr...

Re: TV coverage - Looking for ongoing conversion in Germany
Good to hear about other Germany-based projects. I'm not far enough either, as I'm still dry-testing the components in my room and the transfer case adapter is still in the making, while the car is waiting for its new motor. However, the controls might be of interest to some nerds. I thought of a sy...

Re: Cheap Tesla Shunts (£24)
Thank you for your honest opinions! I'll go for an Isabellenhütte shunt then (though I'm not based in the UK).

Re: Cheap Tesla Shunts (£24)
Thanks for your work put into this design! The links are not working anymore. Does someone still have the schematic and board files? I would appreciate it very much, as I have a Tesla shunt lying around.

Re: TV coverage - Looking for ongoing conversion in Germany
Congratulations for the good reception of your book!
I'm living in Berlin and could imagine showing a journalist around my conversion project, if it's not too late already. It's an old Defender and I want to use exclusively open source controls, mainly ESP32-based.
