Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
There is a DC-DC converter inside the traction battery pack in the GS450h. (I think) it provides the 14V to the rest of the accessories. I am not certain and have no more knowledge off it though.

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Ok I must be missing something but I ordered two different connectors for this connection on the inverter and both connections off the wiki page don't fit - Also is there not a pinout for this?0127212138_HDR.jpg I am following the pinout off the OEM connector. https://openinverter.org/wiki/images/c...

Re: GS450H Discussion
Been MIA for a while. I just picked up a clutch disc and confirmed it fits the input shaft on the GS450h gearbox.

It may be too late now. But do you happen to have the part number for that piece? My gearbox didn't come with it.jcwright45 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 5:31 pm Any ideas on how the centre of this comes out? I recall Damian’s video shows him wielding it to a bit is square tube.

Re: GS450H Discussion
I have opened that up. I am just wondering if there are any concerns regarding the bus bar that runs up to connect with the boost converter.

Re: GS450H Discussion
There's no need to do any of that! Please watch the video I made recently on the gs450h system. I watched most if not all your videos. I have to admit, most of the time when it gets technical, the information just goes over my head. One thing I haven't read/saw is if we connect the HV power t...

Well, I stripped the bottom of the inverter and still couldn't get the bus bars out. How do others bypass the boost converter?

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Interesting idea though. Could reduce a lot of bulk and eliminate the diameter of the bell housing. But you might want to look at the version of this gearbox in the Lexus IS instead. It's similar except doesn't have the 2stage final output. It's called the L210 (as opposed to the L110 in the GS) To...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Backtracking a bit, you cannot (should not) use the factory battery/compressor connectors on this unit, they connect to the buck/boost converter and not the inverter. They are also intended for approx 100A max in the Lexus system. Whether or not they can handle more is a mystery. Note that the meta...

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
Aren't those the outputs for an AC compressor and a heater? Definitely not enough for supplying the current needed for driving the actual motors, unless you're limiting your GS450H system to something like 30A... If you mean using those for their orginal purpose, then of course why not. One of the ...

CNC machined HV terminal posts now available: https://www.evbmw.com/index.php/evbmw-webshop/toyota-built-and-tested-boards/term-posts Can I use the original connection if I have the wiring+connector? I see they are connected to the same two terminals inside the inverter. https://i.imgur.com/bBZfzEu...

1) How much does the input shaft poke out from the general highest point of the back of the bell housing? (e.g. set a 20cm ruler there and measure from it) 29mm 2) How long is the taper at the tip of the shaft before the splines appear fully? (i.e. the length of the tip portion without proper spline...

You need to install the library in the Arduino folders instead of the project folder. The <> brackets in C usually indicates a system level library.

I'm not sure, I don't know what the connector looks like on that module. It is similar to this on the back side. https://i.imgur.com/tx9QztO.png I would recommend a wire tap product... Posi-Tap are excellent and can be left in place and waterproofed with a blob of sealant when you're finished. http...

I was able to locate and access the connector. I was trying to push a solid core wire through the weather seal on the back side of the connector. Is this the best approach to tap into the signal?

Maybe you could tap into the wires into the trans and see the the status of the solenoids and the pressure switches? Well, some life events forced me to have to upgrade to a bigger car for daily. Guess what I picked up?
The car supposedly come with volumes of workshop manual. But the previous owner needs to find it first.

I was looking for Tesla Model 3 PCS that incorporates a charger + DCDC converter. They have been hovering around $800USD lately.
Also there is a Tesla DCDC converter that CAN be had for around $300.

Re: Lexus GS450H VCU Support Thread
The first one looks good. You want to get them as complete as you can. There are some that don't come with the oil pump and those go for even more than the gearbox itself. I usually put in an offer around $350 to see how the seller responds.
