Re: [WIP] L322 RR Vogue - The beached whale
To model or calculate accurate results takes in many variables, and could be a project in itself. After watching Damian's (and other's) work with the GS450H, its not something I'm concerned about...yet! The cooling system allows for much more flexibility than the motor options in my opinion (easily...

Re: [WIP] L322 RR Vogue - The beached whale
What calculations are you doing? The torque output with the high gear I've done would easily carry my van Its not a question of torque output but power ie torque x rpm The motor generator temperature rises very quickly whilst delivering max power. But long duration max power is rarely called for. T...

Re: [WIP] L322 RR Vogue - The beached whale
Such a well engineered project, congrats! Still trying to get confidence in the GS450 design, as all my calculations suggest it will not be able to climb long hills at cruising speed (say mile long 4% hill at 65mph) as it will overheat. As I live in Scotland hills are a concern! Id like to think I c...

Re: Subaru Legacy + Tesla SDU Conversion
So I decided to make an alternative wiring diagram with the following 2 main differences to the Rev 3 above: 1) I've added a main -HV contactor (to be like an actual Tesla arrangement - must be a reason its there right? :) ) and also switching all the contactors in an OR arrangement - either from t...

Re: Model 3 PCS Controller Support Thread
Im trying to design my system, and would like to use the PCS controller, with an Orion BMS.
However both have pilot and proximity signals, so I am confused.
Can they coexist , if so what would be the recommended way to do that?

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
think someone suggested that this _is_ standard Tesla firmware which has just been “re-paired” with the Ingenext controller so that it works outside of the original car?

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
No it wont fit. The pitch on the M3 jtag header is 1mm. So you need a female 1mm pitch header to match. Good news though! I already sourced one, designed a board around it, tested and then then made the whole thing opensource:) Amazing that i missed that, especially given the amount of time i have ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
Awesome!
To Collins point about wiring, it is a bit fiddly, do you think this https://www.adafruit.com/product/2094 would fit?

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
You would be a total hero if you could share any of this with us mortals
I am especially interested in bootloader/CAN loader details, and how you use the private CAN for debugging and scope.
The M3 DU sitting in my garage would certainly appreciate it…

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
I've spent a bit of time documenting my current code and getting it pushed to Github: https://github.com/davefiddes/stm32-sine It comes with a serious health warning. This is not at the point that you can run it on a Tesla Model 3 inverter. If you do so it may damage your hardware permanently. The ...

Re: Tesla Model 3 Rear Drive Unit Hacking
Really well done Damien!! Better late than never :) Before everyone goes and erases their TMS320F28377DPTPQ flash, maybe a good idea to verify that CAN boot eg https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spna200/spna200.pdf?ts=1633198324875 is not supported in Elon’s firmware… Eg with something like https://www.peak-...

Trying to understand why it is necessary to change the processor if Ingenext can reprogram the inverter?
