Re: Suitable battery packs for ECE R100
Have you read r100 in regards to battery boxes? For intense if the battery box is more than 30cm from the fwd/aft point crush testing is not required. So basically then it's very easy to meet. Interns of off the shelf, most OEM battery boxes will be crush tested just for completeness and transportat...

Re: DVLA call for evidence
I'm probably going to draft a rather detailed letter for this as an OI spokesperson (unless someone else really to, lets hope they don't try and deport me ) [I'll update this list as as suggestions come in] 1. Any changes going forward should comply with what's in r100 2. Any Inspections should be d...

these forks are not affiliated with simp or tom, we are doing out own thing, unless you know what you are doing i would recommend buying either a real simp bms or the newer evs-bms from toms suppliers. Although its fun developing a board for your own purposes and porting code the time spent will be ...

Re: [WIP] 1965 Ford Mustang
From someone who has quite literally driven himself nuts worrying about battery placement .... Rember the batteries are not as explosive than than petrol. For what it worth either (a) put them above the rear axel bits obs quite a bit of weight high up or (b) place them in the fuel tank area but put ...

Re: 1984 Voltswagen Rabbit Prius Gen 3 ZOMBIE
There is a mod in the works (not by me Damian and others) that's going to fix the issues, so rather than potentially adding a bug and have an accident and the bad publicity that might be causes it would be prudent to wait for the fix.

Re: Battery packs with 3p
the 2p/3P is irrelevant..... its dependant on the rating form the manufacturer or how far your willing to push them (tesla push the original 1860's way beyond Panasonic spec)... I would worry on more practical things like what will fit.. will i be overweight... where can i fit my motor?

Re: DIY Economiser for OEM Contactors
I haven't played with the voltage method however on the bench I have been playing on the bench with the resistor value to get the duty cycle down and increasing the full on time to reduce contactor bounce when at very low battery voltages (10v for terminally flatt 12v battery)... However it may beco...

Re: Outlander VCU - Rear inverter, Charger and BMS
Am I understanding this thread correct you are able to command 280Nm from the stock inverter? I assume that means that you are exceeding the stock 60kw power output? Or is it just hitting 60kw at lower rpm? (I assume current is recorded from the shunt?)

Re: Replacing the VW BMU aka implementing high level BMS functions
I would, keep things simple and not bother with degregagtion calculation all you really want is soc calculation based on resting voltage and have a fall back where ah are used when voltage isn't possible e.g. motorway drive. a variable for battery ah is all that is needed and as we can record ah use...

Re: Replacing the VW BMU aka implementing high level BMS functions
You really going to go all out with 4.2v/cell seems quite a bit more than the 4.1v we are used to but I guess if the OEM does it it's probably ok Not sure I would want to push it that far daily.
