Re: Reverse Engineering an onboard charger PCB
I always forget how to attach. You need to enable the full editor then there is an attach icon.
I have all the boards from the charger if you want them. I was going to recycle the aluminum case.

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
Does anyone know what size cable I should run from the battery to the motor inverter? I was thinking 2/0 to 4/0. 4/0 is $11.00/ft kind of expensive. 2/0 is $6.56/ft from here in the USA https://www.batterycablesusa.com/extreme-battery-cable-bulk There is this chart. But for me the voltage is 365 - 4...

Re: Nissan Leaf PDM teardown
Hi Johannes, I too did not use the Charger from the EM57 Stack, just the inverter and motor. But on my '70 MGB project i will need a DC-DC charger sufficient to power the MGs lights etc. Can the DC-DC Charger board be rigged to supply 13.8VDC to run the accessories and keep the battery charged while...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
Started on the installing of the two 24 pack Leaf batteries in the MGB.
The tubular frame was reinforced to mount the battery packs and now we will check fit and decide on the mounting.
One 24 pack will go behind the seats and one in the trunk.

Re: Idea: simplified inverter firmware
BTW et al, I bought a Charger for my MGB from Thunderstruck. A TSM2500 Output: 312V (Adjustable) with CAN and adjustable ID, 1 X $555.00 USD Wolf from Wolftronix is writing the interface to talk to it via CAN bus (the PackSniffer2 has two can bus ports and can continue to run the Leaf BMS at 500kbit...

Re: Idea: simplified inverter firmware
I for one am still finishing my 1970 MGB build and won't have a VCU. My next build (already have it is a 1964 VW crew cab pickup). It also won't have VCU. Its been awhile on the MGB, medical issues and life issues, but I am back at it again. But as you noted as a newbie I had lots of issues and ques...

HI, (I'm back) After two Spinal Fusion surgeries, followed by a serious back infection at the second surgery site and a third surgery to clean out the wound and now daily antibiotics to suppress reinfection, I am back working on the this MGB project. Next step install these two 24 cell (2s2P) batter...

Classic Car Dashboard
I have been looking for a simple Can Bus dashboard for my MGB.
I'm defining Classic as any car without all the newer electronics.
I found these in China.
Has anyone looked at connecting the Can Bus to one of these or similar?

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
I'm really curious what capacity level is left in your pack from Battery Hookup? I've found it VERY hit or miss buying used cells from them, and I'd like to use them in the future IF I can feel like I'm not throwing my money away. A good deal is very tempting, until you feel like your money would b...

Re: '70 MGB Roadster - 2015 Leaf EM57 powered
I have awesome news! My battery pack is working and WolfTronix PS2 is working also. I was at v1.0. Wolf made a change at v1.2 that fixed a timing glitch. I upgraded to v1.2 and everything is now working. So, my rewire job for the 24 pack sense wires in my rebuilt 2ed 24 pack to match the two 12 pack...

Re: Nissan Leaf BMS
You could try and load stm32-car on any available STM32 board with CAN transceiver attached. That would give you a "second opinion". It is standard open inverter firmware with web interface, in case you have a programmed ESP module handy. I ordered this but it will take some time to get a...

Re: Nissan Leaf BMS
Finally this mystery is solved! The GND connection to each 4-channel IC is connected to the lowest cell via a 10 Ohm resistor (R698 in this case). That resistor was blown (measured 30k). Replaced it and we're back in the game! So maybe swapping in that sense IC from that donor BMS wasn't even neces...

Any help would be appreciated. I have hit a snag using the pack sniffer 2 from Woftronix. The new 24 pack I built was put on a purchased 24 pack buss bar. I used the existing 12 pack wiring to figure out how to rewire the new 24 pack to match the sense wiring of the two 12 packs. However, When I do ...
