Re: VW eGolf hardware
I've tried using a CAN-bridge to shift addresses in the past with the older (panasonic) packs, that hat unexpected results (not nice...heavy unbalance). So best to use two SimpBMS Was they really out of balance or just reported as such? I'm going to be attempting this soon. they were -very- out of ...

Re: VW eGolf hardware
I have 2 of the 36kWh eGolf packs that would probably mean that I need two SimpBMS to cover them both? The other option I would like to explore would be to add modules from the other pack to go from 88s into say 108s or similar. Has anyone tried that, would it work? Do the modules need to be in the...

Re: Eltek/Volvo charger [SOLVED]
Hi @arber, no issues with 3x eltek on same canbus? or do they need individual canbus per charger? I have to build a big charger for a boat, with sets of 3 chargers to enable for 16A / 32A and later even 63A three phase and have to decide what I'm going to use. (on a small budget) I do already have 3...

Oh nice, do you plan to work on it yourself? I like to lie to myself and say 'yes'... But I don't have the skills or the time, so probably best to send it to someone who can ;) would be great if I could use the drivetrain in boats, or others in cars (for boats, reverse must be as fast as forward)

no separate charge port module.
the 11 kW charger is with Tom de Bree already

Re: New BMS for bq76PL455A based batteries
These modules are used in Volvo PHEV's, I don't know what exact modules are used in what models. Also the 'London Cab' PHEV's have 3 strings of these style modules.
They exist also in 10s, (others also maybe) but I don't know if the BMS is the same.

I'm getting an id.3 battery soon, and asked for a price for the propulsion parts, charger, charge port, wiring, etc.
are there any other parts of interest to also take from the car?

Re: Outlander PHEV batteries - Why so cheap? Something wrong with them?
They were always quite expensive because the cells are bolted so you can reconfigure them. That being said: they can indeed be quite bad SOH, but they are air-cooled by the car (and maybe heated also?), coolant from car goes through a radiator inside the battery and a fan blows the air around. So ma...

Re: E Golf Battery pack
I've learned that with the Samsung (gen2) version, of the 8 modules with a CMU PCB on board, the 3 of them that don't have 8 cells of 'slave' modules connected, also don't give values for those slave cells when you do connect them. This is a difference with the gen1 version that does support this. t...

Hi @arber,
No v-sense connection on the charger?
I guess due to big cables not needed as much as other chargers...but it's also a safety feature for catching bad connections...

Re: E Golf Battery pack
Nice work!
note that 5V is also enough on the 12v line to wake up the slaves!
update: when using multiple slaves, 5v doesn't do the trick, I need 12v then. for single module testing 5v seems to work (simpBMS only powered by USB)
