I have a Tesla Gen2 charger for sale, complete with open source controller (EVBMW v2.3) board.
Never used it and probably never will regarding the higher startup voltage (>150V)
They (Shell) just recently opened an new hydrogen station next to the highway exit on the A15 in The Netherlands. In fact they are still working on it and it is not fully finished yet. But the white hydrogen 'rocket' is clearly visible and trucks are pumping something (I guess diesel actually). Not ...
I think I have one, it is an Elcon something... setup for 120ish volts but can be adapted. Let me know if you are interested. I'm travelling to the UK next week so can bring along if wanted.
What are you using for programming the ATmega ?
I have build a batch of the BMS12 units several months ago and have no problem flashing the supplied firmware..
I have several sets of the Siemens EV drivetrain consisting of an Siemens 1LH5116 AC-motor combined with transaxle and Simovert controller. With the kits I can supply NL registration documents of the donor vehicles which might be needed when installing the kit in another (non-EV) vehicle to state co...
I have manufactured steel pressure end-plates for custom building a battery pack based on (any count of) Nissan Leaf modules. These plates are laser cut and predrilled made of 2mm Magnelis steel and are easy to assemble in any configuration. Leaf_EndPlate.jpg Each kit consists of 2 end-plates, 8pcs ...
Do i get this right that the EVSE can activate the charger? Without communicating via can with the bms, how does the charger know what the BMS suggests as charge limit concerning battery temperature too high or too low, single cell voltages too high or too low and so on? No, the charger always acti...
Here i convinced EVSE to open and supply AC at 16A. I wired one 2K7 resistor and additional switch and 1K3 resistor to PE that brings total CP resistance to some 880R. I did that inside the handle. Charger then started CAN telegram from PP present signal which pulled some input pin on my CAN uC to ...
Yes the NLG5 does support it,
There is a CP (ControlPilot) input connection available to be direclty connected to the EVSE.
You have to trigger the signal though by means of a CANbus message.
I never got it working properly in 'stand-alone' mode (without CANbus) but with it works fine.
First batch of BMS12v3 arrived from JLCPCB today.
The missing parts should arrive this week also so they can be completed and tested/programmed next week.
I would be interested in joining up with anyone looking at the BMS24 and possibly EVMS3 if it helped for bulk ordering! 'Bulk' at this time is limited to about 25 or 30pcs because of the stock they carry. I initially had 30pcs of the BMS12 but when finalizing the order just one component had only a...
I believe PCBWay supports having you sent them the missing parts so they can install them for you ? With the BMS12 I only have to flow the atmega, ltc1602 and solder the non-smt connectors which should be doable. After the BMS12 units have arrived somewhere next week I'll look into the other BMS par...
I didn't have much luck with JLCpcb, did you need to swap in allot of parts from their parts library? When using the Zeva BoM against the JLCPCB parts list is somewhat hard to find the correct part. But searching for BoM part number at Digikey and use the Digikey part description at JLCPCB gave all...
I have finalized the order for a first batch of 25 units BMS12 (without the 3D printed housing but STL file is available).
Prices wil be around 50 - 60 euro per 12 channel module.
If anyone is interested let me know.
That's a nice way to end a business. The designs look quite DIY friendly with 3D printed cases and cheap, minimal parts. I bet someone will start a spin off business out of these, given the extremely liberal license. I'm currently getting everything together for a first batch of 30 units BMS12 but ...
A BIG +1 for Ian Hooper putting all his designs into the OpenSource domain. I'm using his Zeva BMS products for years in my projects and was somewhat worried when he announced stopping the Zeva business this year. Now having all the info needed to have his designs manufactured when needed is a big p...
Could it be some sort of over voltage protection on the charger output? This Elcon charger is capable of charging upto 198Volt so I cant imagine any like that. Problem is I cant measure the regen voltage and current when the bike is stationary. So I need to make a CANbus logging when driving and ap...
Have you measured the actual voltage at regen? Maybe the charger sees overvoltage and wants to discharge the battery. Does it get powered up in a way that would make this possible? Well, in any case, one possibility could be that the charger has high enough capacitance at the output and the inverte...
Just put a diode on the charger output. Maybe that is built in on your other charger. Yes I have thought about that but then the charger probably wont see that a battery is connected when starting to charge. Maybe connecting a diode with a 10K resistor in parallel so it can sense that battery volta...
