Re: Audi A2 /w Prius Gen2 Transaxle & Inverter [FINISHED]
Hello Johannes, My experience with my Think City is that the normal diagnostic devices do not find anything, because certain exhaust-relevant components (engine control unit) are queried first and only then the remaining components on the bus. The devices are intended for use on the defined OBD inte...

Re: Prius transaxle vibrates/rattles, but doesn't rotate
Try to rotate both output shafts in the same direction, when the parking pawl is engaged it will not be possible, otherwise you rotate the motor with force. In different directions, the differential allows always the rotation. To open the parking pawl you have to dismount the drive for it and rotate...

Re: Inside the BMW 330e inverter
Yes, I think the configuration over the SPI bus will not the problem for use with the openinverter control, it is documented in the datasheet. The gate driver supply should be get to work with alternating control of the mosfet's and regulated supply voltage (may be need of pwm), thats the next point...

Inside the BMW 330e inverter
Hello I've got a BMW 330e inverter and could not resist to examine it. So if someone is interested in it, I show my findings. It is a Bosch 0437508310 or BMW 8742493. The IGBT are labeled with a Bosch number, so I could not find any information, but the internet says for the Bosch LEB450D inverter s...

Re: Zafire Power Steering Pump
I only know the old fashion systems, but I don't think there will be a changing for the steering gear. The next step was the direct electric driven steering. Here is a explanation of the funktion from the hydraulic steering gear https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eudfJPHf7DE . This is the gearing I kno...

Re: Zafire Power Steering Pump
For the function of hydaulic power steering: When you don't turn the steering wheel, there should be only low pressuere in the system, the fluid will be pumped around. When turning the wheel a ventil closes and will push the cylinder to help. Only at the end of the of the steering it get in the maxi...

Re: Help! Prius gen3 inverter using ABZ encoder
With the voltage you get without resistor, I expect the center is at 3,1V, so too reach the center at 1,65V the resistor parallel to C27/C28 should be around 11,5kOhm. By calculation you get an output voltage between 0,69 and 2,62V with this value and that fits with the calculation by your measureme...

Re: Help! Prius gen3 inverter using ABZ encoder
I'm sorry to hear that your encoder is defect. The COS value sounds right and with the resistors parallel to C27 and C28 it should work when you get the SIN values in the same range. As the FOC is a function that is depending on the angle between rotor and field, the current should change with diffe...

Re: Help! Prius gen3 inverter using ABZ encoder
I'm mostly with arber333. Remove R29 and R30. Connect the Encoder SIN and COS to MG2_SINB and MG2_COSB (Connector MG2_ENC_1 and MG2_ENC_2). Only as I understand you should use a voltage divider so that the offset will be 1,65V as Johannes answers you in the other post https://openinverter.org/forum/...

Re: Help! Prius gen3 inverter using ABZ encoder
From the description of the encoder the output voltage is +/- 1,1V from 3/5 Vdd in the diagram, or +/- 1,1V from 2,5V in the text as offset. The +/- 1,1V you will only measure with a oscilloscop in AC Mode. The board need an Input between 0V and +3,3V to GND as signal, otherwise it had to be adapted...

Re: Help! Prius gen3 inverter using ABZ encoder
I've seen there are answers in the meantime, but here ist my answer: You have to connect the sin and cos Signal to the ENC_1/SINB and ENC_2/COSB Line as the SINA and SINB are the fixed voltage for the resolver coil to get 1,65V as middle point for measurement. Name from the PriusG3_V1c schematic. I ...

The din_ocur is in error status because in the design of the board, input PA1 is not connected, it should have no effect to the function.

I used a knife to remove the compound. The first thing I did was uncover and removing the connectors, then the fastening screws. There are three screws PH1 that hold the board (white arrows), three that fix the IGBT's under the board (blue arrows) and two screws for the thermal switch. IMGP0194_klei...

I've repaired the RM3 heater in my Think, removing the potting compound is no fun. The original PWM control with a PIC is designed in such a way that the 55A fuse triggers when it is permanently on, as well as for safety in the event of excess temperature due to a short circuit in the heating to kil...

Re: E46 Touring with GS450H Gearbox Motor
The motor is used for the AC charging as replacement for the transformer or inductor in the charger.
For Chademo or CCS, the charging technic is not installed in the vehicle, it is in the charging station.

I've a remark on the Renault Charger System if you want to use it in a conversion, the Chameleon Charger uses the motor as part of the charging system, it is not a seperate unit. If you look at the following site you find some comments to it. https://www.eqpassion.de/en-gb/Efficiency_and_electricity...

Re: Prius Gen 3 Inverter Logic Board Support Thread
The motor current is not the same as the battery current, at standstill or with low frequency the motor current is mutch higher than the battery current. You have a low voltage and hight current at the motor, as it works like a buck converter. For the resolver of the MGR I used polpairs=4 and respol...

Re: Toyota MGR Rear Traction Transaxle
I have the MGR running connected to an Yaris inverter with 60V, but so far only tested in idle, as I will probably switch to an Auris gearbox as drive. The max RPM is different for forward and reverse, but it stops with no trottle and can be controlled with the trottle signal. With the MG2 of the Au...

It uses the Lebowski controller for the auxiliary inverter, for the main inverter the Johannes controller. For programming you need two different tools, one for the STM32 and one for the dsPIC.
My board from Damien was not pre-loaded.

Re: VOLT/AMPERA inverter single controler dual IGBT drive
The last weeks I don't do much with the board, so there are no news. It took some time to realise that the pin in the discription I had to hold on GND was different from the text. So I tried a lot of different seriell communication with and without transistor as inverter between the rx and tx lines ...

I don't have a Gen2 inverter, but when testing the pinswap function in FOC software I had a similar result if the polarity of the current measurement was wrong. I think there is a contribution that in the first Gen2 boards there is an error with the polarity of the current measurement reversed and J...

Re: VW Squareback DIY EV
For the MGR you need the FOC software and here it is important how the wiring is. :!: The inverter must know the position of the rotor in order to control the appropriate coil, so the position and the direction of the resolver (sin, cos) and the phases must match. If the direction of rotation and re...
