Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
I figured the issue out. Motor was not going into idlemode since I don't have my brake light switch hooked up. I changed the parameter idlemode to "always on" and speedkp to "1". Regen works normally now.

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
I am actually using the most recent parameter file you posted (thank you for sharing them!), but I did mess around with the regen settings, and changed potmin to fit my throttle pedal. Everything else is the same. Could it be firmware related? I lost pedal regen after updating (I tried my old parame...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
I am not, but I'm thinking about adding the brake pressure sensor in the future. Also, my throttle pedal has 30% dead travel right now, with the correct pot settings.

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
After updating from firmware 4.17 to 4.85, throttle pedal regen stopped working. I tried setting speedkp from 0 to 1 and updating to firmware 4.90, but regen still doesn't work. Here are my current parameters, I tried setting brkmax to +40%, but it only accepts negative values. Any ideas on what the...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
It currently has 4.17.R. Is there a guide somewhere on how to update the firmware? I tried uploading version 4.85.R to the board (file name: stm32_sine.bin) using the web interface, but afterwards the parameters showed it was still at 4.17

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Hi, I've been driving around for a while with no issues, but I want to improve the throttle response of the motor. There is currently a weird response where the motor will apply a reverse torque before giving torque in the correct direction. Under 10mph, its unnoticeable, but above 30 mph it becomes...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
It seems that all 3 phases of my motor are shorted in both directions, diode voltage across dc +&_ to ac output is 0. It seems the whole inverter is destroyed. I guess I'll purchase a new one. Is there any point to upgrading my standard LDU inverter to a performance inverter? I'm using 2 Chevy v...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Any tips or a guide for removing the inverter from the drive unit? I have removed the 10 screws that are deep inside the triangular structure, but something else is holding it on (the ac power connections?). Also, Tom what do you mean by a diode voltage? Is there a voltage drop across the diodes? Do...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Yes, the short is in both directions. :( Do you think it could be repairable? I will disassemble the motor this weekend to check out the inverter. Not sure what could've caused the failure, only drove for 20 minutes and didn't push it very hard. It didn't overheat or anything. Thank you Jack for all...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
After a short drive yesterday, my main contactor shut off, and then my precharge resistor and relay overheated/ caught on fire. The cause: my tesla motor appears to be shorted out, as in the resistance between the 2 power leads is 0 ohms. :( Any ideas on what this might be? I'm hoping it's not catas...

I can send some screenshots of the debug on Thursday, but I remember there was no abnormal behavior.
Also, is there any difference between termination voltage and dc charge voltage? Thanks

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread
just installed a new tesla gen 2 charger, got it working last week. However, it only seems to charge at half the rate the charging station can handle. With my 40a charger it only charges at 20a, and with a 30a charger, it only does 15a. This is at 220v AC. I've set max charge rate to 45a. Is there a...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread
I haven't been able to get me tesla gen 2 charger working. I've set the ac current to 5amps, single phase, and termination / dc voltage to 380v. The pack voltage is 340v. When i plug in my j1772 charger, the 3 modules light up and I hear a click, but then a couple seconds later, there is another cli...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Thank you Damien, got it working after uploading your parameter file. One more question, I think reverse and forward are switched. I have the motor in the same orientation as the model s, power leads come upwards on passenger side. However, in forward mode, the car moves in reverse. Is this normal? ...

How would I reload that file?
I have reset the parameters over wifi, it didn't work. I have also changed the max voltage parameters to no avail.

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
I got the motor working on 50v, but now with 350v, it no longer works. It is getting the forward input and a correct throttle input, but the motor does not spin or make any sounds at all. When the throttle position goes above 60%, the main contactor is opened and there is an error saying overcurrent...

Re: Tesla Charger Support Thread
What would be the best way to shut off the charger if there is an issue with battery temperature or cell voltages? Disconnect the control signal, or just the 12v power supply to the charger? Also, does the charger taper down amperage as it approaches max voltage?

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Got the motor working a couple days ago. Is there a way to implement one pedal driving? Like when you let off the throttle a little bit, regen braking kicks in.
Also, any reccomendations for a precharge relay? Trying to find a cheap one.
