Re: Toyota MGR Rear Traction Transaxle

Please don't lets get hung up on this high voltage thing. More voltage is only required to counter the back emf as the motor increases speed. True enough but I'm guessing running it from ~300V it will have have about half the speed and power capability? No. Not necessarily. To make reasonable compa...

Trouble is, he's deliberately left out all the useful information. >:( Hmmm.. can't agree with that statement, because there is in fact a lot of useful information in the pages of mauswerkz E46 HaD project; for example: https://hackaday.io/project/4649/logs?sort=newest&page=4 At one point about...

Re: HV cable advice.

Welding leads are suitable, and you can obtain in bulk by the .25 meter from welding supply shops. Orange conduit is also a good option since the orange rubberized coating usually costs much more than the standard black (or sometime green) that the cables usually come coated in from the welding supp...

So this is only for cost/labor saving? As you may find in reading the material; the research paper presents a novel way –with little to no extraneous apparatus needed, to quickly and efficiently heat the traction battery from −30ºC to 15ºC in as little as 5 minutes! Re: Inverter powered battery heating

It turns out, the lower the frequency, the higher the current. Fascinating! Read the paper this evening. Good science there. Great find! Thank you for the introduction to this principal. Industrial Webasto / Eberspächer 'Thermo-Top' hydronic heaters are somewhat common in commercial use through out...
