Re: Webasto HVH50

I think that with no HV you will only receive a "not ready" response
The Webasto doc notes that the HV MUST employ a pre-charge
According to post 16 on page 1 no interlock is required, but it is easy enough to try, just jumper the interlock pins on the HV connector

Re: Webasto HVH50

Part of what I like about EV-Olution's design is that there are status LEDs (and a start - stop button!) simply using MPU I/O pins I am confused by the nomenclature on the schematic, I see LIN_TXD and LIN_RXD on the MPC2004, which I think would be connected to TX1 and RX1 of the MPU, but those pins ...

Re: Webasto PTC Heater Programming Help / Arduino Teensy

I am in my own boat, sailing on the same sea... Part of the problem is the code on github is snippets of lots of other stuff for stm32. I think it needs instructions and library files to work, but how this relates ? Try asking someone who knows and you are likely to get an answer that you must alrea...

Re: BMW´16S Battery Module pin out

I am using the 2p8s modules, the 16s are probably similar. Orange is the cell taps and yellow is the temp sensors. Just start at one end with a probe on you VOM and find the other end, where you will read the total pack voltage. It is then simple to go down the line as each cell (probably a top row ...

Wanted: Arduino programmed in North America

I want to control a PTC heater over LIN (see https://openinverter.org/wiki/Webasto_HVH50 and https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1565 ) I have found a simple to build controller based on an Arduino (see https://ev-olution.yolasite.com/nissan-leaf-ptc-heater-aftermarket-lin-controller.php ...

Re: Webasto HVH50

Not being a software engineer, I am hoping to locate a dedicated LIN controller that I can use to control the HVH50. All I need is something to send the code to turn this on as if it was controlled by the Analog Switch operation outlined in the manufactures datasheet (basically 80% temperature and p...

Re: Webasto HVH50

Yes, and i would gladly add this essential information to the Webasto wiki if I could figure out how.
I just think the topic of connectors is so important it deserves a wiki of it's own!

Re: Webasto HVH50

Could someone explain how to obtain the complete HV connector for this unit? I can find the Tyco HVA280 connector part # 2103177-1 easily, but this does not include contacts, interlock or seals. The Tyco website is difficult to use as there are no references as to which contacts or accessories work ...

Re: 1964 Rambler Classic 660 2dr sedan w/ GS450h

Thanks for the informative reply!
Does the frequency of the PWM signal act as a "temperature" control, and by changing the frequency on can set the compressor on-off cycle thereby controlling the AC temp?

Re: 1964 Rambler Classic 660 2dr sedan w/ GS450h

Any luck getting the Tesla AC compressor working? I am hoping to find a turnkey solution for implementing a high voltage compressor with an existing AC system, seems possible. All it has to do is take a cabin temperature input and cycle the compressor to achieve a desired temperature setting. Under ...

SDU Cruise Control

Has anyone got this working?
I am still at the test bed stage, got the car (finally!) and working out the frame adaptions.
I get no response from engaging the Cruise Control or the Brake Pedal switch, I have tried them both with on /off & momentary switches.

SDU grounding

Should there be a ground strap from chassis to the SDU? Does anyone know how this is configured on a factory car? It seems odd to not have a safety ground... of course it would probably need to be lifted to connect to the inverter board via wifi! I measure no continuity between the 12 volt ground on...

Trying to get to Spin City...

Rear SDU test bed so far: I have plotted the pot 1 values (822 to 4395) from my Subaru e-pedal and entered the values, rebooted & refreshed and it reads the same. I have four 12 volt 100 ah batteries in series for 48 volts feeding the contactors, and a 650 watt 120 volt light-bulb in series with...

How to read spot values?

I am looking for instruction on how to get the spot value page to work, as I can not find anything on this by searching. I have the test bed all set up, and wifi is working. I can read values, change them and save (flash? save & flash seem to be used interchangeably in posts, adding to confusion...

That makes sense, I will use a light-bulb (120 volt 100 watt)
Any recommendations on the pre-charge resistor value? I see posts of people using anything from 25 to 100 ohms
I just happen to have a 35 ohm 100 watt lying around...

test bed current limiting resistor value?

I now have the O/I board installed in the SDU and I am setting up the test bed. I have searched for the value of resistor to use for current limiting on the motor battery B+ (for test purposes only) and can only find "use a resistor or some heater wire". I understand that it is critical NO...

Re: VX220 with Tesla SDU

Am I correct that the BRAKE SIGNAL (pin 10) is the Regen control input? Does it operate opposite of the THROTTLE signal (as in +5V = no regen & +5v = full throttle)? What does the BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH (pin 15) do? Is it just informing the O/I board that the brake pedal has been pressed? Does this ...
