Re: 1971 GMCe Lexus GS450H BMW 530e Tesla Model S powered Electruck [FINISHED]

Congrats on getting your truck driving! This is one of my favourite build threads on OpenInverter, full of technical detail but also very entertaining.

Re: What voltage does the lexus GS450H and IS300H inverter actually put out?

Feel free to correct me anyone, but I think bypassing the boost stage means the inverter can only deliver the same max voltage as the battery. But Damien has said/shown that these gearboxes don't need 650V.

Re: L210/GS300H (or IS300H?) transmission max rpm

The fuzzy part is MG1, as thats the part that isnt operating as per factory in these conversions. Helpfully in the 300h box, the MG1 ratio is lower than MG2 , so its already spinning slower by a decent chunk with a locked input shaft. That's very interesting/encouraging! I've been following the dis...

Re: Can’t send a pm it’s stuck in outbox?

It's a quirk of this forum that Outbox means something different from what I'm used to with other messaging systems. Caught me out too the first time I sent someone a PM.

I would be interested, assuming the items are in full working order as far as you know. I'm in the Mitcham area, not far from you.
But don't want to complicate matters if you're already negotiating with someone else.

Re: Registering and changing tax class of an EV conversion in the UK

It does seem like what the authorities are really concerned about is preventing/discouraging potentially dangerous conversions... but instead of tackling that directly, they're simply discouraging ALL EV conversions by taking an illogical zero-tolerance approach to both the tax class rules and the &...

Re: Is300H Inverter Hacking

Hi, before you go down this route as far as I understand it the is300 is not fully supported by the Zombieverter at this time. It is not a selection option in the current software version. It is "under development" so you may be waiting some time for a driveable solution when you have fin...

Re: L210 gearbox

hi, does something speak against using the L210 gearbox as if it were an L110? I just want to ask before I buy :) Maybe I shouldn't be the one answering this as I'm a beginner myself, so happy to stand corrected, but as I understand it: "Pros" of using L210 instead of L110: L210 is somewh...

Re: Zombieverter or Lexus GS450h VCU that is the question.

Interesting question! The Zombieverter is a marvellous project, very ambitious and wide-ranging, but clearly still in development. I was intrigued to note that a clever chap got a 210 gearbox running with yet another option - using a Prius Gen 3 inverter with the dual-motor OpenInverter board. Each ...

Re: Zombieverter always on, although ignition off

I suppose I'm always looking for the simplest/crudest solution, but could you just have a manual switch in the car to control power to the VCU? Then you can turn it on when you're about to drive or charge, and turn it off when you're leaving the car out of use to save battery drain. Alternatively ha...

Re: UK IVA Modifications

When assessing whether a newly converted vehicle needs an IVA or not, is the DVLA only strict on cutting/welding done specifically for the EV conversion, or do they then apply the same strictness to unrelated welding work on the body? What I mean is, if I carry out my conversion making use of existi...
