Re: Tesla DC DC when OFF / 12V charging
Thanks guys. I figured. I originally had about 1A of drain and took the time to pull back all of the wiring to the basics and added one section at a time. I identified some large numbers in certain areas and put them onto relays that activated when the car started. Unfortunately, a large draw comes ...

Tesla DC DC when OFF / 12V charging
Hi guys. I am not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere, but wondering if there is a way for my EV to be able to keep my 12V battery topped off while the car is off. I know that while it is on, I am getting 13.6V steady, but I have a good deal of parasitic drain on the car when off (close to ...

Re: MPH through CAN from tesla SDU to speedhut dials
The above information from Johan is correct. My roadspeedgain reading had been 8.18 and this was the correct conversion. I hooked up my GPS speedo and took the 911 out for a spin and compared the readings on the GPS speedo to the CAN Speedo using this code and they were both tracking the same speed ...

Re: MPH through CAN from tesla SDU to speedhut dials
Hi guys. I read this post because I have updated my firmware and roadspeed is no longer available and it was really helpful to understand the conversion, but I still have some questions:
I have the same speedhut speedo with the following CAN:
CAN ID 599
Position 0
Bits 16
Gain 10
My roadspeedgain ...

Re: Tesla GEN2 Charger output
I wanted to report back on my progress. As I mentioned before, I was not getting anything out of module 3 and Tom and I were troubleshooting this. I determined that all of my wiring was good and connections were sound. I purchased a backup charger, which never hurts, and it was also lighting up all ...

I’ll adjust my slip settings in the coming days to make less powerful.
Boxster, I wonder if you have made those adjustments to your parameters yet? If so, would you mind posting them?
Your parameters have always worked very well on my 911SC with the Tesla large drive unit and I would love to ...

Hello everyone. I have finally SOLVED the HV heater issue and can set out a path for anyone still trying to incorporate an HV coolant heater into their EV build.

Re: Tesla GEN2 Charger output
Hello again. As way of an update, I have not solved my problem but created a new one, as can happen. Somehow in the process of testing the charger and alternate charger, when I was putting it all back together, the charger now clicks on and off every 5-10 seconds :(

Re: Tesla GEN2 Charger output
So I have finally had time to pull off the charger cover to test it, but not sure what I am testing.

I unhooked the DC OUTPUT connector but the charger kept turning on and off when I did this and I did not get any readings on the output.

Re: Tesla GEN2 Charger output
Understood Tom. Well, that makes me wonder if my solder was bad on any of the connectors or some other card troubleshooting, since I assume the software works for everyone else . . . do you know if the latest version is still 1.17R? I could try an update.

Re: Tesla GEN2 Charger output
I have not yet had the chance to open up the charger and check all of the wires and test the AC and HV. Before I do that, it occurred to me that when I had the V4 card in my charger, I pulled some readings for this board and wondered if these readings indicate that the third module was pulling AC ...

Thanks Tom. I will check on that. I am not exactly sure what I am looking for, but I assume I should check to see that module 3 is wired up the same as module 1 and 2. Since it lights up, not sure what that tells us and I was not sure if this could be something in the charger board or its ...

Hi Tom. Thanks for the reply.
When plugged in, all three modules light up and are a solid RED.'
With the new software, I am not sure where I go to enable only module 3. I recall there is a hidden folder maybe that has these settings.
Apologies, but can you let me know and I will try this next ...

Tesla GEN2 Charger output
Hi. I am circling back to one of my older "to do" items now that I have some time to troubleshoot. My GEN 2 Charger has been functioning with the Tesla Gen 2 Charger Logic Board V5, but I have not gotten more amps out of the charger (20-22A). I am in the US without 3 Phase, My setup is a 240V ...

Re: Webasto HVH50
you set power to 400 and wrote to an 8 bit variable
If that is the case, do I need to change it from 8 to 16? The heater can handle up to 5000W on the HVH50 and 7000W on the HVH70.
If I use the max 8 bit value of 255, by the formula of (255-256)*40 = -40, right???
Maybe check if ID 23 is ...

OK! So I reinstated the royhen99 code with some modifications and hooked everything up to water, 320V and 12V and ground. I had the controller run through all IDs on the lin.order command and used ID 39 for the lin.response, since this is the only ID that does not return -1. Power set for 1000, Temp ...
