Re: Leaf Gen2 Inverter As a Drop in Replacement for Stock
I also wanted to add with some quick tuning I was able to get 100kW output on our dyno from a 2014 Gen 2 80kW Leaf inverter with the Open Inverter board. I've heard it can do more but I ran out of time to spend messing with settings. Planning on doing some more Leaf inverter work in the future, espe...

Re: Leaf Gen2 Inverter As a Drop in Replacement for Stock
I traced the dropout issue down to the canio value and setting the din_forward. It seems that randomly the bit would go back to 0 even though the VCU output was consistent - so it seems like either a Can issue or the inverter software. This happened very infrequently, during a 2 minute pull on the d...

Leaf Gen2 Inverter As a Drop in Replacement for Stock
I had a customer request a drop in solution for their off road rig which could get them more power than stock. They are running a Thunderstruck controller and they don't want to have to rewire/reconfigure everything if they change back and forth between inverters. I'll be the first to say - what Ive...

Re: Nissan Leaf 2011 inverter board
We had these boards made. They need some tweaks from the version that's out there but they are very usable. There's another thread on the board detailing what it takes to get them sorted.

Re: Nissan Leaf Gen1 DCDC control
Has anyone used it without connecting it to the car's cooling system? We removed it from the junction box assembly and ran it with just a finned heatsink and some airflow from our radiator fan and it's been fine. I wouldn't run it for long with no cooling at all though. Any power conversion compone...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 board
Analog signal, I used a 10K pullup and that seems to be working. Got the offset and gain dialed in the software so it's pretty close to the measured values at 0V and 315V which is what my pack is sitting at right now. For reference, I measured 0.4V at 0 and just over 3V at full potential with the OE...

Re: Leaf Gen 1 board
Spent some time working with this board recently and wanted to add a few things: CN3-12 is indeed the UDC signal. It needs to be pulled up to 5V. CN3-14 which is connected to CN6-1 on the adapter board is not populated on my inverter harness. CN6-3 Is connected to the inverter chassis via one of the...
