Re: [WIP] Defender with Tesla pack and Chinese PMSM
I like your software approach. Are you aware of : https://github.com/collin80/GEVCU7 . Quite similar approach and the most mature SW architecture I now for EV conversions. There are more https://github.com/mumme74/CarTransporter with good approach for PID, https://github.com/jamiejones85/ESP32-Chade...

Tesla temperature sensor
Hello,
I am currently designing a derivate of the outlander ECU , which I will publish soon. I want to consider also the ability to measure coolant temperature. Do you have an idea, what kind of temperature sensor, Tesla build in ther coolant sensors?

Sooner or later I also will need such a pack , maybe with 12 8s modules. I still need to determine size and weight .
However maybe we can team up, to bring the packs from UK to Germany. Feel free to PM me.
Best regards Felix

Does somebody know the cable size from the rapid splitter to the charger and to the front junction box / front sdu ? The cable to the rear LdU are according to Weber 50sqmm cables . From charge port to obc as well 50sqmm.

Re: Tesla Small Drive Unit (SDU) Gear Box Fluid leaked
Interestingly I had the same issue and already started a topic on this: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4143 . Therefore I am very interested in your outcome. My SDU Rear unit is leaking just around one drop per day into the inverter housing. When I bought it used it hat just some doz...

Re: Emergency Stop Wiring
Just do be clear, that I understood you correctly. Unbenannt3.PNG Unbenannt2.PNG Wouldn't be it better to have a poll down e.g. 2kohms mounted inside the inverter , so that I externaly just need to interrupt the line? Further more I am a bit worried, as it is the 5V supply line of the micor , then r...

Re: Tesla SDU temperature sensor loose
A little bit further in my investigation:

I would say , I 3d print a ring eliminating the play . And I test it after some minutes of running, if it’s not leaking anymore.
Any opinions on this ?

Re: SDU Oil in inverter ?
After watching some SDU disassembly videos I am pretty sure , that this is not normal. It was just a few spoons of oil and only on the motor side of the inverter housing. The Inverter itself is fully dry. As my temperature sensor seems to be loose, that might be the reason. Did I get a SDU with defe...

Hello all, I was just measuring my motor as Damien did for the large Drive unit and recording a video to have all the documentation how to do it on the small drive unit. However, when I opened the inverter housing to my surprise, I found a little bit of oil at the bottom. I tink this is not how it’s...
