What happens when it reaches this level? Is it like a valve that restricts it beyond this value or does the relay kickout?

Re: 2008 Corvette C6 Conversion
OK. Good to know. I will update my idcmax parameter. If I want to limit it to 1400, do I set the value at 1400? Thx.

Thanks. Will try it.P.S.Mangelsdorf wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 8:57 pm Try reducing brknom / regentravel, that will reduce the percentage of throttle dedicated to regen.

Re: 2008 Corvette C6 Conversion
Awesome! That looks really clean! What batteries are you using? Also, did the LDU work with the stock rear suspension? I had looked at various Corvette suspensions for my build and was concerned about it fitting. EDIT: I watched the video and answered my own question. I'd love to see build photos i...

Re: 2008 Corvette C6 Conversion
Now I understand how people feel who say "I can't get my head around the software part" I can't get my head around the mechanical part. I wouldn't deem something like this even possible. And you just present it like "look it's done!" :) Subscribed and will be following My educat...

2008 Corvette C6 Conversion
I recently completed (of course, never really done) my Corvette conversion using a Tesla LDU with the openinverter board.
I'm uploading monthly to my YouTube channel -- https://youtube.com/@e-grandpa9778?si=lKo2O2nWbbQaJuvP -- to spread out my build process.

Re: Accelerator pedal dead zone
I've read through the various posts, but still not sure how to solve my throttle issue with my Tesla LDU Sport motor with a car weight of 3,600#. I like my idlemode off for now. I don't like that I have to tip into the throttle 20% to get the car to move. I'm used to it, but when others drive it wit...

Re: Tesla LDU Controller Stops Working with Aggressive Throttle
It seems that ocurlim value is the same as the current in amps. So, 1000 ocurlim = max 1,000 amps. I set my ocurlim to 1500. I made my own battery using Tesla 18650 cells in a 96s72p configuration made with double Battery Hookup fusible links at the cathode. Given that, I didn't want to exceed the f...

Re: Tesla LDU Controller Stops Working with Aggressive Throttle
If someone knows the recommended ocurlim for the Tesla Sport LDU that would be great. My worst fear is setting it too high and causing the inverter to sink too much current before ocurlim trips.

Re: Tesla LDU Controller Stops Working with Aggressive Throttle
Is there a correlation between ocurlim and actual current amount? Also, what do I have to do to detune. Looking for of course a good balance. I did change the trip setting to 1 after you mentioned it. thx

Put ocurlim to 2000. That seems to have been the issue. Works great. I will test some more. Thanks for the help!!

Re: Tesla LDU Controller Stops Working with Aggressive Throttle
That's exactly what mine is doing as well. Sorry I didn't see your post. I'm only into the test mode for a few days. Other than this issue, the controller seems to work fine. I converted a 2008 Corvette so there's considerable expectations / pressure to achieve an appropriate acceleration rate :). I...

Tesla LDU Controller Stops Working with Aggressive Throttle
My conversion is up and running. I'm using the equivalent of a Tesla Model S Sport motor with a 96s72p LI 400v battery (essentially the same as a Tesla S 85). I have tuned the throttle and reg. They seem fine and were close already. However, I can get the main HV contactor to turn off with an very a...

No damage done. After calming down I double checked everything and found a loose low voltage ground to the LDU control.

Tesla LDU Reverse Polarity
I accidently reversed my HV polarity going to my contactors during my last bench test using only 36v. The precharge relay and ignition contactor activated, but It almost immediately blew a high current fuse. After discovering my stupid mistake, the system will no longer startup and activate the prec...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Cruise Control
Thanks for the quick input. CAN is currently a large unknown for me. So, for now I believe my plan will be cruise button toggle on with break pedal switch for off. I'm very interested is using CAN for cruise, but will put that into next steps. Thanks again!

Tesla Large Drive Unit Cruise Control
I want to implement cruise Control with my large drive unit. It appears that if I apply voltage to pin 21 it will energize cruise. I assume if I deactivate pin 21 cruise shuts off. Will braking also deactivate and if so which pin? Of course, after the brake is released, I don't want cruise to reacti...

No current plans for CAN. One thought is to leverage pin 6 when it turns on the main contactor coil.

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Yes of course. Thx. I suspected that this is all that is necessary. I tested it this morning by just removing power to my Forward / Reverse selector switch. I haven't decided exactly yet, but probably a three position selector switch with indicator lights for Forward, Neutral and Reverse will work b...

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
Does anyone have a recommended wiring diagram for providing Park, Reverse and Drive (Forward) as input to the LDU? Is Park just simply not providing 12v to either the Reverse or Forward pins 7 and 8?

Re: Tesla Large Drive Unit Support Thread
I have a Tesla Sport motor in a test-bench setup. I'm using an e-motorcycle hall effect throttle for now. My software version is 5.13R-SINE. I set it up a few months ago using four 12v lead acid batteries in series for approximately 48v plus a separate 12v battery to drive the relays and controller....
