Re: Inverter Firmware v4.12.R

"start 2" and pushing the button does the same. fslipmin/max is not relevant in sync mode.
I'm trying to recall, are you using the Melexis sensors?

We have a WIKI!

I installed a mediawiki (the software that runs wikipedia): https://openinverter.org/wiki Everybody can read it but only forum members can write it. You log in with the same credentials that are used for the forum (hopefully) I do actually consider merging the entire documentation there and we can f...

Re: Your opinion on openinverter funding

Thank you very much for your thoughtful replies. I'm kind of relieved you didn't like my initial idea, it surely would have been extra work. And thank you for designing the banner, thats cool :) Can you make one that shows a populated board? Of course focus should be on sell-able products. That come...

Sounds like some reasonable effort. A first shot of the software should only take me a few hours. Can you do the first tests with the regular firmware to see how the car likes it?

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.12.R

I think now I see what happened. For Leaf motor respolepairs must be 4, also polepairs. sin/cos is for hall effect chips that work with a permanent magnet. They deliver the same sin/cos signal like a resolver but without excitation.
Thanks for testing this! I am so down on parameter documentation...

Your opinion on openinverter funding

So currently this project is funded by hardware sales and Patreon. Those two combined probably yield an hourly salary of 3€ or so :o I still want to do open source as much as possible and I don't want to generate revenue using ads. Therefor I would like to suggest an experiment: making all cost and ...

Re: Enova Combi Board [SOLVED]

Thats an interesting point. I wonder what faulty gate drivers outputs read when used as inputs?
Tom, if you still have the damaged board I could hack up a firmware that configures the 6 PWM pins as inputs and reads their state. Would be a cheap check :)

Re: 4-channel BMS with daisychain bus

Up'n'downs today. I have fully migrated the Polo to the new BMS. It still drops out on driving and becomes a little disturbed on charging (funky inverter charging, that is). Now for tracking it down I scope the the data return signal. Since I was all in prototyping mode I left battery terminals unco...

Re: Error Voltage Measurement [SOLVED]

Yes it's correct and it only affects the temperature reading. The voltage sense needs to be calibrated with udcofs and udcgain.
With no voltage connected set udcgain=1. Then read udc and set udcofs=udc . Then apply a known voltage and set udcgain=udc/u_known

Re: Tesla Model 3

Yes according to the wording on the German wiki (and the magazine I read) it IS an IPM just with a higher reluctance component. Maybe they put dents in the rotor, I don't know. So I don't think it qualifies as an actual switched reluctance motor with all its weirdness :D I believe increasing the rel...

Re: Tesla Model 3

Thanks, found it. On German wiki it says "PMSM with increased reluctance component" and in English its "permanent magnet switched reluctance". A bit of a difference. Elon says: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/998015873167208448?s=19 I think it still means 3-phase sine excitat...

Re: Tesla Model 3

Where does the switched reluctance info come from? In a recent German magazine "elektro auto mobil" they stated that the rumors about a switched reluctance motor in Model 3 were false and that it uses a regular IPM motor. Like Leaf, Golf and all the others. That also has a reluctance compo...

Your listing has been removed: Trademark Violation

I got a really sketchy email from ebay yesterday. It took me a while to figure out what it was about, at first I thought it was a scam. So here is what I had done: I had put one of my Ni**an ;) drop in boards on ebay UK just to test perception. Two weeks ago I took it down again because it didn't re...

Re: Tesla Model 3

Wow. I mean double wow. One for your open source commitment, another one for this inverter layout. Had somebody suggested to me they will build a 200kW inverter in that package I would have smiled at them. And now Tesla did it. Is the bus cap really just 68µF? Even 2x68µ would be an order of magnitu...

Yes that version had the position tracker. It seemed to produce much more vibration on regen (you also reported that) so I ended up removing it. Can you test regen again (especially strong regen)

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.12.R

I think I found it. In version 4.75 (uh, what happened to my version counting? Anyway, 4.75 is older than 4.12.R) I swapped sin/cos channels to mach the cable loom of the Leaf inverter. I think there is your problem. Can you swap sin/cos and try again?

Re: Calibration of current sensors Melexis. [SOLVED]

Oh yes, those instructions need an update. With the Melexis sensors "winding 10 times through both sensors" is no longer possible. So in fact the sensors must be calibrated when mounted onto the target bus bar or cable. Either calibrate them with low current - whatever your lab supply is a...

Re: Resolver Excitation with V2 mainboard

Yes that is how it should be. That said, in code I shift the field by 180° for reverse but it never quite runs in the same manner as in forward. But at least 5000 is in the right ball park. I use 55000 as default but that is found using an idle motor at 60V. So your value is probably better. EDIT: a...

Re: Resolver Excitation with V2 mainboard

OK then. Can you privide insight how to rotate the other way? We almost burned oil inside transmission in reverse. Of course: So "red" always wants to be exactly opposite of "blue". Therefor if you start out with a field offset of 270° or -90° the rotor will rotate anti-clockwis...

Re: Peugeot 406 coupe Pinifirina with Leaf motor and Ampera inverter [FINISHED]

Nice project with lots of new approaches, I like it. How will you adapt the AC pipes to the new compressor?
I think the direction change logic you describe is already implemented in the inverter.
