Re: Several questions about firmware

Hi Fabian, 2. I use this one: https://www.olimex.com/Products/ARM/JTAG/ARM-USB-OCD-H/ . But there is apparently much cheaper ones (ST-Link) which work as well 4. No worries, no DC is injected. Only one phase is constant 0/1 while the other ones still produce sinusoidal output. So phase-to-phase ther...

Re: Does Firmware now support "Field Weakening" for Leaf Motors

Well, it seems that the speed isn't actually limited to 3000rpm but more like 6-7000rpm (will update the product description). Automatic field weakening is still unsupported due to the lack of a test vehicle. See thread linked below.

There is two pinout versions, I selected the weird one (with full intention of course :? ) It's the 6001R part.

Re: Error Voltage Measurement [SOLVED]

Yes with resistors R8 and R7 you can set the offset voltage. I tried with ltspice but I guess you can find the formula somewhere on the web. The input voltage into the Si8920 chip must be between -250mV to 250mV so goes negative also. The voltage between AOP and AON varies from -1.6 to 1.6V (8.1x ga...

Nissan Leaf Resolver offsets

So it turns out the Leaf motors are marked with a resolver calibration value that needed to be entered into the inverter whenever a mechanic swapped either motor or inverter. So on this thread I wanted to collect some of these numbers to find the system. They can be found on the bottom of the motor....

Re: Prius Gen3 Inverter Hacking

Great stuff. One of the things that gives me pause for thought is the proprietary connector and the need to get the mating half. Looking at the housing there's an adaptor plate with a seal: Great stuff, would also work for the Leaf inverter which uses the same super secret connector. Would you like...

Re: Inverter Firmware v4.17.R

Phase voltage is not affected by the change. No, not the full torque is continued but the torque is now supposed to decline linear with speed instead of quadratic. As it is a "constant power" region the battery current will not increase, provided to configure fconst (not too close to fweak...

Decided to draft a release with the recent changes contributed by Nail and myself: Added possibility for a constant power region, set fslipconstmax=fslipmax if you don't want it! Thanks for the offer but I think I'm getting close. I asked a very perfectionist mechanical engineer to help me and he makes a perfect coupler now. That takes time :) Today was the first time I powered up the Touran system since I removed the engine and ECU. So: STOP! check engine oil pressure, chec...

Re: Range extender charge pump

Actually I anticipate the changes in current and therefor pack voltage of the "host" (being the vehicle thats range extended) to be much slower than the 8 or 17kHz control loop can handle. Even putting your foot down hard will take like 50-100ms physically. I would follow the good 'ol appr...
