Re: HSG - Hyundai/Kia
Hello, I would like to document part numbers for these, as it makes searching on eBay much easier. I have found part # 3739003900, can anyone confirm that this model number is what this thread is about? Example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/276188297838?fits=Make%3AHyundai&itmmeta=01HVKKQ1QQSTGW9VMM...

Re: any interest in Model 3/Y battery packs (with motor etc?)
I’ve never seen a pack so o don’t know offhand. But LFP is 3.2v nominal and NMC is 3.7v, so sometimes you can infer it from the number of cells and the voltage of the module.

Re: Eltek 3kw x3 as 9kw
Thanks arber, that reply hits every single one of my questions! Perhaps a more obvious one. My canbus network is terminated by a Zombieverter on one end and an IVT shunt on the other (it has an internal resistor). Am I correct in assuming I can connect these chargers (plus my outlander heater and AC...

Boekel, do you what chemistry these packs are? LFP/NMC?

Re: [WIP] Mercedes Sprinter / German-e-cars Plantos EV
Ah, also, on the hydraulic power steering, if it proves too complex, you could always go with a Volvo electro hydraulic pump. It works at 70% power with just a 12v ignition signal, and you can get it to work with variable speed with a controller from Bruno power steering. I have one in my VW T3 bus ...

> He said he bought it from someone who had 4 for sale, and the other 3 went to South Africa... As someone in South Africa I am intensely interested in this. The EV conversion community is so small here, and support is so poor, that these may very well be sitting in a warehouse somewhere gathering d...

Standard Connector Recommendations?
Hello, I am now looking at my components and thinking about wiring them up. For bench testing, I can just use lugs. For an actual vehicle install, I’d like to standardise all the connectors so to make maintenance easier. Does anyone have recommendations for both HV connectors and CAN connectors? Wha...

Eltek 3kw x3 as 9kw
Hello, I have 3x Eltek 3kw chargers. I think the history is they originally came from arber, and came to me via Zapatero. I am interested in wiring them up to make 9kw, and have some questions. 1. I was wondering if anyone had instructions on how to wire them in 3 phase configuration? 2. Zapatero sa...

Re: State of Rex hacking?
I have no real knowledge, but am following with interest, so would like to throw in some possibly silly thoughts. Ignore at will. 1. Could this perhaps be some incompatibility between the inverter and motor? Something that is not noticeable at low loads but that kicks the inverter off at higher load...

Re: 2024 Best battery: 100kg limit
22kwh for 132kg sounds pretty good. The BMW modules sound like a good bet - but I need a higher nominal voltage.
At any rate this all sounds promising so I’ll ping my shipper and see how adventurous they are feeling

Re: 2024 Best battery: 100kg limit
This is why I posted the question - one seems to need to compromise somewhere. Given the fact that I am going for a hybrid setup, I should probably just look for the best hybrid battery I can find since I won't be able to build anything better than a large OEM engineering team. @m.art.y how much doe...

Re: 2024 Best battery: 100kg limit
Voltage range 300v-400v.
Not counting housing.
I think if I can get 15kwh I'll be happy.
Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

Re: BMW i3 drop in boards
Johu, I have looked, but am unable to find an answer. Could I somehow use this board to control an i3 generator motor to use it as a range extender? I see two possibilities - 1. This board is compatible with the generator inverter, so just use that Or 2. This board is only compatible with the tracti...

Re: Leaf Precharge Circuit: Identifying parts
Thanks johu, this is very helpful. So if I have got this right, the means of controlling the contactors is via the plug labeled (8) above. I have found a wiki page that relates to this contactor box here - https://openinverter.org/wiki/HV_Contactor_Box - but it's poorly named and could do with an up...

Edit: fixed johu's name, which had autocorrected to John!

Leaf Precharge Circuit: Identifying parts
Hello, I have a leaf precharge circuit, and I'm trying to figure out how to wire it up, and how to control it. I have looked through the forum and through the wiki and can't find much, so I thought I'd ask here and make the answers into a wiki page. I don't have access to an actual Leaf to see how t...

What do you need an Outlander HV Junction box for?
Hello. I am very slowly sifting through the parts I bought from Zapatero's e-Mpreza build. One thing I found is this box. My googling tells me it's an Outlander HV junction box. When I open it up it looks like the HV cables go right through it via solid bars, and the orange cable has 3 wires coming ...

Could I ask what an OI board is? I’ve been trying to follow along - very interesting - but I can’t get a full understanding because I can’t figure out what an OI board is.
