Re: Tesla LDU Pick & Place File Fix? [SOLVED]

It really bothers me that DesignSpark can't produce valid JLCPCB placement files, and I would be kinda embarrassed sending sending JLC a mess and expecting them to guess where everything should go. Also a big risk of orientations ending up incorrect. Thanks royhen99 for posting corrected files. This...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

I've been doing a lot of hardware design recently, so I'd be interested to get together with someone to work on this. I'd ideally want to look at implementing the software in a MCU at the same time based on our existing working knowledge of the protocols, in order to make a small unified device. My ...

Re: Develop a QCA7000 board?

Since it's available in small quantities and sanely priced, perhaps someone should approach Lumissil and get the datasheet for the IS32CG5317 under NDA. While it's not ideal using a part with a closed datasheet, this is clearly inevitable. Once a driver is written, other people should be able to use...

Re: DVLA Changes on conversion

Hope I'm not derailing the thread but what counts as a chassis modification? I was hoping to install batteries beneath my van between the chassis with some form of mounting system fixed to the chassis such as a welded bolt, would this count as a modification? It seems camper vans often use the chas...

Re: DVLA Changes on conversion

So i'm just wondering what others have on their V5. I knew i couldn't zero the tax on this car, not bothered about that, but does fuel type say electric because if my V5 is unchanged it's doing to look like a diesel still. The mot tester can bypass the emissions test he says so i don't suppose he i...

- what is sinecurve? I have tried it at "voltage" as well as "simultaneous" and the latter gives less grumbling apparently Sinecurve is a feature I added. It changes the way voltage and slip increase with throttle: * VoltageSlip - this is the default and the original behaviour f...

it doesn't then cut off when the charge cable is then removed keeping the VCU in charge mode. Do you mean the VCU is staying in charge mode when you disconnect the charge cable from the PDM? If so, I assume this is unrelated to your use of the GP2 output pin. Does it get stuck in charge mode even w...

Re: Soldering Zombieverter VCU - where is PIN1 on 3122T Gate drivers?

The datasheet says there should be a pin 1 indicator, but it certainly appears to be missing. The datasheet also says the beveled edge is on the same side as pin 1, so I believe Pete's answer above is correct. The datasheet also says that pin 1 is on the bottom left with the text the right way up, s...

Re: VX220 with Tesla SDU

I was wondering if you thought about putting battery cells in the petrol tank bay between seats and motor. And if you didn't why not? I am thinking I will replace the tank with batteries in that space. I don't consider that as a chassis mod as the sheer plate will be left as-is, that is structural ...

Re: Should I buy an OpenSource Board?

I see a lot of motors on ebay around $4000 and I would buy one right now together with this board if I would know exactly what to buy in order to test it. If I buy the motor I need to make sure that it works so I can be able to return it if there are any issues. At this point not sure if Ebay is a ...

I am looking to see if openinverter is capable of the adjustments and tuning my project requires. I could not find a download link to the tuning software on the website. Re: Emergency Stop Wiring

In my opinion the *best* solution here is a two stage circuit. The first thing to do is always to hit the emcystop input of the inverter. This will *instantly* shut down all IGBTs. It has the same effect as going into neutral, but totally overriding the software, and not waiting for the next PWM cyc...

It's on another thread called current control of induction motors. Go to the bottom of the thread and you'll find the download and information.

Re: LDU Board - Not getting Powered Up

One very minor thing is that it seems to spin forward when it should be reverse but that's no issue. Openinverter doesn't really care which way is forwards and which way is backwards, it'll provide 100% torque and power in both directions. If it spins the wrong way, the accepted solution is just to...

So cool! I am actually starting to develop a controller based on the IS32CG5317, so far it has been a much more pleasant development than working with the Qualcomm alternative ( and its limitations on documentation ). We are making a EVCC for a tender yacht / boat to charge in the harbour of "...

Was there some signal level metering limitations on AR7420 or is it after all capable to act as EVSE against "real" vehicle? I don't believe the AR7420 supports signal metering at all. You can implement an EVSE but when I did this I couldn't get it to measure the signal so I had to send f...

I have made the two changes above to the firmware. Removal of regen makes me more comfortable releasing this and encouraging others to try it, and the new field weakening configuration works well. A little more configuration is required, but the result is instant throttle response in the field weake...

Re: Open source CCS using AR7420

Found my solder sucker, in the wrong bin as usual. Charlie's pic was enormously helpful, but I either bought a bum unit (foolishly, I forgot to plug it in to mains before attacking with the Dremel) or I managed to zap it, though I was being quite careful. It draws no current at all, either at 5V up...

Re: Current control of induction motors

Following on from the above, there are now two changes I'm now considering making to this firmware: 1) Get rid of regen. I don't plan to use it, I'm still worried about its stability, and I don't want to maintain / support it. This will dramatically reduce the number of parameters. 2) Remove the dyn...
