Re: Tesla LDU HV wiring
First, before you do anything else, set tripmode=1 (Keep DC switch closed). Any other setting can cause serious damage to the inverter in the event that you hit an overcurrent error. I've tried setting udcmin and udcsw to 368 and 330 respectively, as well as 0 and 0. The rest of the parameters are d...

More bollocks. IMG_20230313_125310315.jpg I apologize for repeating myself, but it really makes no difference how many people in government regurgitate this. The author of this letter is simply repeating what they've been advised the law means. They are not a lawyer, and have not put forward any le...

Re: New BMS for bq76PL455A based batteries
So if i want to make some boards, and if i understood correctly, I have to add an ethernet transformer on the comms line ? The latest version of the board includes the transformer on the board. Browsing thru the forks, I found Johannes had one with V7 & V8. Seems like probably the correct files, but I just wanted to confirm instead of assume. I have no idea what I'm doing. Thank you! To confirm, yes, the files in Johannes's Github are the latest ones that you should be using.

I definitely like this! It means writing a whole embedded implementation of the EXI comunication stack though I guess.

Re: Lastest SDU Design Files? [SOLVED]
I'd suggest you read this thread: https://openinverter.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=991 Damien's last revision of this board was V6 and I don't believe he is actively working on this hardware for now. The V7+ versions improve upon that design and those are what you should use to build / further develop...

Attached is firmware 1.11.Z. This is a test build I've just compiled from the latest firmware from Github, including the fix for Chademo CAN3 speed selection (revision f48649c59c53d06d599ab573bd4f80f742622df3), and with my fix for the leaf v2 PDM included.

Re: Help tune
I will try to answer this, but you're probably not going to love the answer. Lets start with the basics. If your ACIM is designed for 200V AC at 50Hz, that roughly equates to 282V DC at 50Hz. You only have 150V, so your fweak should be 150 / 282 * 50 = 26.6Hz. Looks like you calculated this correctl...

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but why does this matter to us? Are you not developing a new stack from scratch based on the spec?

Yeah, it worked in 1.08, then broken in 1.09 by this commit:

I fixed it again, but my fix hasn't been merged yet:

Re: Chademo Leaf PDM & Zombieverter!
No, I don't think the PDM is that simple. I've opened it and checked this but don't remember anymore so I'm not stating this as a fact, but I do definitely expect the PDM to have a transistor or relay inside preventing the closing of the Chademo contactors with only d1/d2 power being provided but r...

Re: Damien takes Zombie GS450h on dyno
I guess simply stating one or the other is more important doesnt work. What matters is area under the curve. Getting to 200hp earlier, and holding that figure throughout the pull, puts more area under the curve and produces a faster car. To achieve that you either need more torque, or more RPM's (a...

Re: Damien takes Zombie GS450h on dyno
Motor 1 makes 1000nm, but has a power limit of 10kw Motor 2 makes 100nm but has a power limit of 300kw. Good question. The motor with crazy high torque will accelerate you insanely fast off the line, but only until it reaches its peak power, which will obviously happen extremely quickly. My guess i...

Re: Damien takes Zombie GS450h on dyno
The useful thing about power is its speed agnostic. Power is the end result of speed and torque. You can have lots of torque and low speed, or lots of speed and low torque and achieve the same end result. Torque alone is useless. I respectfully but strongly disagree. Having driven an EV off the lin...

Re: Chademo Leaf PDM & Zombieverter!
The Zombie Chademo is designed completely separate from the PDM or other Leaf stuff, right? You will have to rewire the Chademo contactors directly to Zombie as well as rewiring any other Chademo signals going into the PDM, if you're using the Leaf harness. I might not be up to date on this but I h...

Re: Chademo Leaf PDM & Zombieverter!
Does the PDM have a relay controlling the Chademo contactors? Assuming is does, then it would need to be enabled so that control is just from pin 2 and 10 of the Chademo connector. The Chademo contactors are inside the PDM. I'm not yet sure whether charge sequence signal 1 + 2 will be enough to clo...

Hi, On version 1.08A all is working fine, Using Ext_Digi to start the charging. Main contactors shut and relay in the PDM makes and AC charging commences. Does anyone know if the rev limit within Zombie verter web interface records MG1 or MG2? According to this line of code, Zombie only looks at the speed of MG2: https://github.com/damienmaguire/Stm32-vcu/blob/master/include/GS450H.h#L34 float GetMotorSpeed() { return mg2_speed; } It's my understandi...

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
A few questions come to mind: Do you correct at a flat rate per cycle, linearly against error size or even apply some exponent? Do you pull / return throttle at the same rate? Do you have hysteresis or just set a target well outside of "straight and steady" slipAngle noise? Firstly, I sho...

Re: Lotus Elite + GS450H
Motors are agnostic to their inverters, long as you give the inverter the correct settings. If you're programming the inverter yourself, that's true, but the preference is generally to run inverters with their factory firmware, which as I understand it, is preconfigured for a specific motor. The GS...

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
Ran a few tests today with 2%/10ms throtramp. It's "working" but unable to keep up and ends up oscillating. If I might make a suggestion: assuming you're doing a simple proportional feedback ie: throtmax = 100 - slip; Try an integral-only approach, like this: if(slip > 20) throtmax--; els...

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
40%/10ms - fair bit better but still not fast enough. Throttle/potnom is cut within about 40-50ms of the slip starting, but motor current takes a further 50ms to decay - can reduce the ramp up to 100%/10ms but then I'm dealing with some internal openinverter ramping I guess... tcutest2.JPG Yes, sor...

Re: Best sine parameter to vary for traction control?
Good data there!
2%/10ms is IMO a very slow throttle ramp. I run mine at 50%/10ms so you can definitely go a decent way up. The throttle is only as jerky as your foot
Personally I prefer the "instant" throttle response.

Re: Damien takes Zombie GS450h on dyno
It would appear to be sitting against a torque limit from the start of the pull to when it hits the peak. We can see it makes 220hp at 123kph and 110hp at 62kph, exactly half, suggesting exactly the same torque value. Can we request more torque from it? This is pretty much what you can expect from ...
